Chapter Three “What do we do?” Frank asked hot balls of sweat dropped from his forehead his hands cold and numb he couldn’t apprehend the way forward “I don’t know” Tina spoke pain lingered through her voice her hands folded on her head her vision blurry her blood ran cold. “The paper would be ready by tomorrow, once he signs it I’m sure he would leave this city to another leaving me lonely and stranded, No I can’t let that happen”. “But Tina I love you, just let him go and let’s be together” “Are you crazy? Why should I leave him for you?” Tina could only weep, her hands firmly on his collar she shook him violently. He grabbed her not saying a word she buried her face on his chest weeping. “It seems your done for the day” Francis said his hands dipped in his pocket relaxing on his car, “Yes we are closed for the day, you can come back tomorrow” she strode off her face pale her eye’s swollen “Hey wait up” Francis called out “He pulled her arm “Let me drop you off the weather is freezing cold it will rain soon” his words were sincere his tone was comforting “thanks but I can manage myself” she tried to leave but he tightened his grip “You don’t look ok, I don’t mean any harm” his hands crossed on his chest. She stared deeply into his eyes looking for trust and warmth, it started pouring heavily she braced him weeping he held her close to himself. “Sorry I let you drench in the rain” Rosella spoke her voice was as cool as the breeze, “It’s ok, I’m fine” he responded he took of his suit and placed it round her “Try not to catch a cold” he smirked while taunting her. He zoomed off “Are you ok?” He asked his tone steady but sincere he looked at her his heart beat rising “I’m fine just exhausted” she turned her head admiring the views through the window he saw right through her but didn’t press further. He turned on the radio soft music echoed through the vehicle making it a little lively, he sang word for word Rosella’s face beamed with a warm smile she looked at him with eloquence “Common let’s sing together or don’t you know the lyrics” he tried taunting her again, he smirked at her. “Of course I know how to sing this song” she sang lyric for lyric her eyes beaming with pride “Ok you sing” he said his hands up in the air. They laughed and sang together leaving the atmosphere bustling. “Thanks for the ride” she giggled “Come in let me make you a hot cup of coffee if you don’t mind” “Maybe next time” Francis declined politely but she wasn’t ready to give up “Common I’m not poisoning you, I’m I?” “I never said you were, maybe tomorrow” she walked towards his door and opened it pulling him out “You’re having that coffee tonight” her tone sharp, he widened his eyes she slammed his door shut and pulled him into her apartment “Sit while I make you a hot cup of coffee” she spoke confidently her heart fluttered, she left and went into the kitchen. He sat down his eyes admiring every corner of the scenery, a frame caught his attention he walked over and picked it up he gazed at it intensely he mind flooding with questions “That’s my ex husband he died in accident” Rosella explained as she paced into the living room holding a tray placing it with tenderness, she handed him a cup of coffee forcing a smile. He knew he had touched a deep wound buried deep down “I’m sorry didn’t mean to steer up anything” he apologized “It’s fine, why were you at the bar at that time knowing fully well I had closed for the day” she asked intensely, she gazed without deviation while she sipped her coffee “Um” he stuttered unable to give an explanation “Just came to admire the sunset” his eyes fixed on his mug sipping cautiously. Rosella couldn’t help but laugh her hands clenched on her tummy, he couldn’t help but smile to he felt a sense of warmth and relief. “Sorry but I couldn’t hold it” she said composedly getting a hold of herself “your so funny” she finally relaxed, “So are you always this funny?” “I’m not a comedian” they chatted for hours the air was spirited, his phone rang he glanced at his screen “Excuse me” he excused himself and stepped out “Can we talk?” Frank spoke from the other end “Talk I’m listening” his face twisted immensely “it’s not a phone conversation meet me at Delia’s Restaurant 12:00 pm, I will be waiting” Frank abruptly hung up. “He got some nerves” Francis barked he slammed his palms against his car, his heart rate increasing, his clenched fists pounding on his car blaring his teeth, Rosella glanced through the window realizing something was wrong she stepped out and saw him throwing a fist. She walked flawlessly and hugged him immensely, he stood still letting her tighten her grip tears streamed down his eyes, He saw a flicker of hope he held her hands intensely not letting go.
