The Betrayal
Chapter One “Why did you betray me?” Francis glared his eyes bloodshot, his blood boiling vigorously as he stepped forward his hands trembling “Where did I go wrong Tina?, Answer me!” He shook her, “I’m sorry” Tina said not been able to stare at him. “I didn’t know how to tell you, i didn’t want to break your trust, I’m deeply sorry” “Stop lying to me!” Francis roared as he raised his hand ready to lash at her but paused in his track. His knees went numb and he tumbled to the ground. “No this isn’t happening” Francis held his head his left hand on his chest he couldn’t pierce where he had gone wrong. Soft music echoed through the scenery, He sat in a corner drowned in his emotions his hands on his chin, his eyes were bright red as he grabbed the glass on the table poured in some red wine and started swilling, he drank till the sunset “Sorry sir but it’s about closing time, aren’t you leaving?” Rosella asked while she clenched her nose and drew back unable to withstand the strong blandness of alcohol. “What do you want? Do you also want to taunt me huh?” Francis dragged his feet as he fought to stand upright “What do you want exactly, just let have me my peace please” his hands joined together above his hand “Am begging please just leave” he kept on pleading. Rosella was dumbstruck without having anything left to say she left, he stood up stumbling “Watch your step” Rosella hastened her pace as she held him “let me drop you home, you don’t look good” “Let go of me am not drunk, you just want to take advantage of me” he shouted “what do you take me for” rosella glared at him “suit yourself” she stormed off without looking back. “Why me” Francis teared up rolling uncontrollably on the floor his body trembling after hours of wailing he dragged his weak body and stumbled to his car he inserted the key into the ignition but the engine refused to come on “Dammit!” He said as he slammed his palms on the steering and clenched his fists. It was running late already he had no choice, he drifted off. The sun slowly crept up the sky, he rubbed his eyes gently while he yawned his whole system were numb “Ouch! My head aches” he held his head agonizing in pain. He inserted the key silently praying “Finally!” He exclaimed, he then drove off. He got of his car and strode into the living room “You are back” he turned staring at Tina his fist tight, his heart heavy, his lip quiver, he stormed off to the bedroom. He took off his clothes and got into the shower after he got out and was getting dressed when Tina walked in “Can we talk?” He walked past her while he shrugged his shoulders “Please talk to me” Tina ran after him gripping his arm “please I’m sorry” she said with a teary eye “Let go of me, you disgust me you don’t deserve any pity not after what you did to me. I loved you, I trusted you Tina I did everything a man would do for his wife but yet you went behind me and slept with my brother, and all your saying is sorry? Lol you must be a joker. Let go of my arm” He violently shook of his arm “I’m sorry” Tina kept on pleading “what would your sorry fix huh? Please Tina don’t push me to the wall okay? I don’t wanna do something I will regret Later on just pretend that I don’t exit” he said wearing a pale smile and promenaded towards the door, He soon arrived at the company. “Bring in the files” he hung up waiting for his demand, “Can we talk?” An uninvited guest stepped in “What are you doing here?” Francis asked charging at him grabbing him by the collar ready to unleash his pains on him “please hear me out I’m here for peace” “Peace you say huh? After afflicting an unbearable load of pain on me now you are here for peace you must be a joker” Francis clenched his fist held his collar even tighter Frank grasped for air his eyes teary “Please let’s end this” Frank said in a frail voice. Francis chocked him even more he wasn’t ready to let go, “Go to hell” Francis spoke as he chocked him Frank fell to the ground “Ahh” Mabel screamed, she threw the files and hastening her legs towards them she kept on trying to separating her boss and his brother but to no avail “Help someone please help me” she echoed on top of her lungs some workers who heard her voice barged in and removed his hands from Frank neck, he grasped for breath and held the wall looking for support. He wiped his teary eyes looking straight at Francis who was talking ready to pounce on him but was been stopped by his workers “Just wait until I get my hands on you I will make sure you never see the sunset you scumbag” his eyes were fierce. “I will be back brother” Frank said with a pang of guilt. “ Let go of me” he spoke as he stumbled to break free “we’re sorry” “you all leave my office let me think” he ordered. He slammed the door shut pacing helter skelter, he grabbed the glass cup on his side desk and smashed it on the floor he yelled uncontrollably unable to condone himself. He gripped his suit and headed downstairs he slammed on the gas.
