Later in the evening was movie night in the living room. Dad and Alessandra had wanted the four of us to watch a few movies together, with hopes of making it a regular thing. I was glad Topher and I had been interrupted during our steamy moment in the hot tub earlier, since our parents had announced they were on their way here with Chinese takeout. The first movie had been more to Topher’s liking, a typical superhero film that I could take or leave. I’d rather read comics and graphic novels for that sort of thing. The second movie had been a decent comedy that I’d enjoyed, and Topher seemed to have enjoyed it as well. Finally, my parents wanted to watch a period film that was okay but verging on boring. They loved their pretentious Oscar-bound stuff that I often failed to enjoy.
