WereChallenge 2: part 2

I’m so fired up right now. I feel like a badass boss b***h, who is about to beat the f**k out of the Arcapy beast thingy.

For the whole day I didn’t talk to my siblings or my father. I’m still pissed about what happened and I’m using that to fuel me for this next challenge. I’m scared but I’m also excited. I’ve read about Arcapys before and I know they spit out wolfbane and have scaled skin and horns. Obviously I’m going to be trying very hard to not get on its bad side. Well that is until I have to cut its head off.

Which is pretty f****d if I do say so myself. Okay but like seriously, who comes up with these things.

Anyway I’ve been tracking the arcapy in the caves furthest away from cumpus because I know they like quiet places. I shifted early so I could easily find it’s location without working too hard. There might be less people who made it to this challenge but they are still many enough to warrant at least half of us not finding an arcapy. And I’ve been picking up scents all over the place of people searching for one. But when I saw that they we’re going in one direction I changed and went the opposite way.

The reason I stayed away was because I can’t have people trying to get me disqualified or people saving me. I need to do this on my own. Even though I am freaking out a little as I approach the cave that I just found. It definitely has the Arcapy in it if the smell is anything to go by.

Time to get my head.

Wait. There’s something wrong with that sentence but whatever, it’s game time. I sneak inside my eyes adjust to the darkness. Outside the moon was helpful but here. . .I’m on my own.

My wolf growls having scented where the Arcapy is hiding. It snarls trying to scare me but that only helps me to identify it’s exact location and without thinking twice about it I leap and and aim straight for the neck. It’s weakest point.

But that only leaves my stomach vulnerable for it to attack. It claws at it but I jump away dodging just in time. We cycle each other and when I’m about to pounce at it once again it slips away.

Using the maze-like tunnels to evade me, but the but I am relentless in my pursuit. I follow closely when I’m about to aim a bite on its head it turns and spits wolfbane at me . I leap away just in time but I end crashing to one of the rocks. A crack echoes through the caves making me wince. I broke something. The arcapy sees this as a chance to start attacking again. This time it also goes for my head. I manage to get away but my wolf keeps howling in pain. I think I’m going to have to shift back to human form.

Well this sucks.but I think I might have a plan.

I shift back then sneak through the small holes. When I’m behind it I pick up a rock with one arm then throw it at its head. It grunts trying to see where the rock came from. I crouch low, pick up another rock, change locations then hit it again. I hit it a few times but it ends up getting up again. It’s irritating. My arm is getting more painful by the second but I can’t lose.

I can’t f*****g lose

“Could you f*****g stop getting up” I scream and my voice echoing around the cave. The Arcapy looks at me, tilting its head to the side. Then shakes it as it starts to sway on its feet until finally it’s falls. I breathe heavy my arm throbbing with every rise and fall of my chest. I chance a look at it and I just know it’ll take me a few days to heal. Dammit.

I’ll have to deal with that when I get out of here. If I get out of here.

Though the Arcapy doesn’t look like it wants to put up a fight anymore. It’s like something is holding it down. I look around me because I swear to god if the is something else here that’s invisible I’m getting the f**k out here and I won’t think twice about it.

But when I look trying to see if I can pick up a scent of something there’s nothing. Just me and the stinky monster.

I take a tentative step towards it. I jump over a puddle of water and that’s when I see it.

My eye reflected on the water.

They are gold.

My sclera is the same as my iris. What’s happening to me. Did the Arcapy harm me and I didn’t notice. I look at it and it groans and thrashes trying to get out the invincible hold it’s under.

“Am I. . . Doing this?” When I said it should stop moving it did. But for how long? Is this real or is it sort of trick. “Are you faking a boo-boo so you could eat me when I get close” it just growls. I guess that’s a no.

I step closer ready to when it starts getting up. s**t I have to end this right now because it’s clear whatever hold I have on it is not strong enough. I can’t shift right now so I’ll have to end this in human form. I pick up a rock and aim for the neck but it’s swats me away with it’s tail. “Dude be careful which the arm. Damn” I pick up the rock again and dodge the tail. I wack the neck over and over again. The blood splutters on my face, my hair and my clothes. I wack until the head is detached from its body. I touch my hair that’s dripping with blood “This is going to be a nightmare to get off”

After a few minutes I’ve got the head tied with some vines so I can drag it. It’ll leave a trail but future me can deal with that.

I walk for a while but then I hear some noises.

I’m sure those are a human grunts. I think someone is hurt. Do I go see what’s up or do I keep going. f**k I’ll just check. I find Noah laying behind a bush “Noah!! It’s me Kayla.What happened are you okay.”

“Uhh. . .the..Arcapy.Wolfsbane” he breaths out. I think he’s trying to tell me that the Arcapy spat wolfsbane on him. Maybe that’s why he can’t open his eyes. I pick up other sounds again. Footsteps.

Someone is close, thank god. I can’t carry Noah and the head with a broken arm.

“Who’s there? We need your help” it gets quiet for a while then I hear voices then a growl then it all goes quiet. s**t maybe that was not someone who is willing to help.

Maybe I should. . .

“Kayla. Fancy seeing you here” Alvins voice makes goosebumps rush up my back.

“Of course you’d be the one to come when I call for help. Is the universe messing with me or are you following me”

“Nope not following you. I was going to bring back the Arcapy head when I heard a damsel in distress and had to intervene like the true gentleman that I am. What’s wrong with your boyfriend”

“He is not my boyfriend. The arcapy spat wolf bane on him. He needs help. I would help him myself but.. .” I lift my arm to show him.

He looks at me for a moment then whistles. The two guys who are always with him come out. One of them looks at me with a smirk on his face but when he looks down at Noah it’s quickly wiped off. Replaced with a scowl.

“Maggie here needs our help carrying her boyfriend back to. . .”

I say “he’s not my boyfriend” at the same time Alvins scowling friend says “he’s not her boyfriend”

We both look at each other, him still scowling and me confused as to why that makes him angry.

I decide to drop it.

“He’s just lost consciousness, we’re losing him” I tell them.

“How are you always in the middle of some trouble” Alvin asks looking at me passively. “Do you look for trouble or does trouble look for you”

“Alvin please I don’t have time for your s**t. My friend is dying and we need to get him some help”

“My dad was killed with wolfbane” he says and I look at him with genuine shock on my face but it doesn’t dater him. “They did mix it with silver but it was mostly wolf bane”

I look at his friends trying to see if this is a joke or something “Uhh okay. I mean sorry for your loss”

He shrugs saying “You can carry the heads and I’ll carry your friend”

“I think if we move him he’ll get worse”says the other friend who has been quiet till now.

“I don’t know” I look at them. I don’t say it all but I think they all know that I mean I don’t know what to do.

The scowling one growls low “I’ll take him” without letting me get a word in, he picks him up. Bridal style. The arcapy head he was carrying long forgotten.

Alvin looks at his face with surprise in his face “Dude what about the challenge? You can’t just leave like this”

“The f**k I can’t. And f**k this challenge I’m leaving.” He then disappears though the thick trees.

“Is he. . . Is he going to hurt him. He looked mad”

“Honestly I don’t know. I have a competition to finish so see you around Kayla”

Ugh. He annoys me.

And why is he shirtless again.
