Nothing had changed. Stained wood on a single-story cabin. A green rusty mailbox. Lana walked up to the mailbox and laid her hand on the cool metal. It wasn't a dream. She felt her feet start to carry her to the front door.
"Who are you?" A deep voice sounded behind her. She turned to see a tall man with black hair. He was dressed in a grey t-shirt with jeans and sneakers. A flash of a memory came across her mind. A young boy with black hair reaching out for her as she was being taken. "Sam." The words barely escaped her mouth before she collapsed. Tears rolled down her cheeks. It was her brother, she confirmed it through his scent. Sam simply stood there in astonishment. She could see he was at a loss on what to do.
"Do you not recognize me? It's me, Lana. I'm back. 12 years and now I'm back." Shock spread across his face. He deeply inhaled and she could see something click with recognition. He ran up and collapsed on her. He wrapped his arms around her and began sobbing. "My little sister is alive." I have to tell everyone. She knew he opened up the pack link. He had paused for a few moments then grabbed her hand and began to drag her toward the woods. "Where are we going?" Sam slowed then abruptly let go. "Sorry I got excited to show you to the pack. They can't believe it and neither can I really. Maybe if others see you I know I'm not crazy." Lana smiled and wiped away her tears. She was excited to see everyone again. It doesn't feel real.
Lana followed Sam through the tree thickets until they came upon the hollow where the rest of the pack waited.
