Prolog
Today was gonna be just another day of Grimhaven. A little place of forest and nowhere-ness. With the pine trees reaching the heavens and the scented breeze, it’s like Autumn is year around here.
As I got ready, brushing up my nearly white locks out of their bedhead and putting on my black cold-shoulder sweater, and dark grey skinny ripped jeans. Preparing myself for another day of school. I pulled over my old grey jacket and my pleather boots onto me. As I headed towards the kitchen, I noticed it would be another lonely morning, as both my parents work long night to morning shifts. I honestly wonder when they sleep, it’s like they’re never home since we moved here.
I grab myself a shiny, deep red apple out of the fruit on the center counter, and head towards the front door. Munching away at the apple, I text my bestie, Aygul (who was named due to being born on a family vacation in Turkey, on a blood moon). Not long after, she drove up the long, wicked drive-way and beeped her flashy green Jeep at me. Signaling my time to get to school finally.
It was a while till we were heading towards the front doors of the Grimhaven High, that me and Aygul noticed the group of girls gocking away at Grimehaven’s mystery bad boy…”Blaze Conri”. It surely is a name not to forget when it rolls off the tongue like that. I rolled my eyes as Aygul’s shimmering blue gaze was fixated on Blaze. I wanked on her baby pink sleeve to keep walking with me. She giggled and looked at me.
It is gonna be a long day now that everyone is going to be obsessed over Mr. Mystery Bad Boy. As each hour passed and getting the sideway glances and whispers of who knows what about...the last class came along. I sat at my desk with my work as usual, already finished. I looked over at Aygul, who conveniently gets to be next to me.
She noticed my curious gaze, and whispered to me, “You should come over this weekend. I have a small gathering of friends happening and-”
I whispered back, “Pass…”
“You gotta come along, Lil, it’s not like we’re gonna do anything illegal, it’s just some movies and pizza.”, Aygul was beaming with hope...ugh, how could I say no to her anyways. She is my ultimate best friend.
I sighed, nodding, “Fine, fine, but there better definitely be pizza like you said.”
Aygul giggled softly, as happy as they get. I swear, she’s 5, not 17.
