“We need a tough warden. I want someone who is no nonsense and is willing to rule with an iron fist,” said Sterling to the CUC leadership team.
“I agree,” said Mark Roberts, the new captain of the prison. “We want someone who understands our philosophy. We’ve narrowed it down to three candidates.”
“Mr. Brewer, would you like to meet with them back-to-back?” asked Sterling’s secretary.
“Yes. How about Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday next week?”
“I will confirm with the candidates and get back to you immediately.”
Sterling met with the first candidate, Armando Cruz, on Wednesday. He had a long background in corrections.
“Mr. Cruz, Mr. Brewer is ready for you,” said the secretary.
Sterling greeted Armando at the door. “You must be Armando. Great to meet you. Come into my office?”
