Sterling was feeling very good just prior to the board meeting. He did ten push-ups to get the blood flowing and was ready to introduce the board to his latest idea. He adjusted his tie and walked into the boardroom.
“Ladies and gentlemen, it’s so great to see you. How’s everything going?” asked Sterling.
“Doing great,” replied one board member.
“You’re looking snazzy,” said one of the former lobbyists. “I love the tie. I need one like that.”
“Thanks! I’m feeling even better. We’ve been making tremendous gains at CUC,” said Sterling as he walked toward the computer and uploaded his PowerPoint. “I want to show you some of the latest numbers and talk to you about the next steps.”
