Sterling walked into the conference room to meet with the board of directors for Corrections United Company, or CUC. The board consisted of former law enforcement professionals, a retired high school superintendent, former lobbyists, political consultants, and various individuals working in corporate finance.
“Thanks for meeting with me today. I hope you have all had a chance to grab some of Miami’s finest coffee. I wanted to update you about CUC’s control of Homestead Correctional Facility. Our new warden, Billy Bridges III, is a no-nonsense guy from Texas. He’s helping us revolutionize the jail system. I’m so glad that he is working on our team. He has helped us decrease costs and improve efficiency.”
