Emilia's POV
The night seemed to be pressing down on me. The air was thick and heavy, and there was a silence that was not normal. I didn't hear any insects or leaves moving, only a silence that made me uneasy. The sky was dark because the stars were hidden by huge clouds. Everything was still as if the world was waiting for something to change.
Standing near the edge of the sacred grove's clearing, every part of me felt as tight as a bowstring. I was puffing for air, unsure if I was scared or excited.
