Ch.3 The deep voice and the deep eyes

______ANGEL WALK HOSPITAL______

Agnett~

I felt like I was floating in the dark. Why does my whole body hurts so bad? Where am I? A voice rung in my ears like I was too important for that person. Who was that? 

"I won't let anything happen to you, Agnett! You gonna be fine! Oh God you are safe!" The voice seemed distant and vanishing. It was a feminine voice but it almost mixed up with the coarseness of masculinity. It sounded all raspy and sexy and I wanted to hear it again and again. When I felt myself getting close to that person, I felt our muscles getting relaxed. A hint of relief. 

It was too hot to bear myself, like flames were piercing into my flesh. 

I opened my eyes and took me some seconds to adjust in lights. Where am I? Hospital? How- wait! It kicked my brain like a metro train, stopping at the every single memory of the club, what happened? How am I here? Who were with me? Everything! I remembered I lost Kayden at when fire broke out and I was stuck inside, but I am...alive. 

I glanced around the room and saw a drip was attached to my wrist. I saw a figure sitting by the side of my bed, with head leaning down in hands. I saw Mom sleeping on the sofa. All of them are here and I know who is beside me. I gently touched his hairs and he woke up flinching. 

"Hey! Hey... it's ok Kayd. It's me. I m fine." I said almost in whisper and his eyes got wide and watery. "You woke up Agnett. Are you ok? Let me call the nurse!" He was all alert and took my hand in his warm ones. I can see the past fear in his blue orbs. I stopped him from standing up and he sat back. "Wait. Call them later. I  wanna be with my best friend right now." I said and he nodded. "I am sorry for scaring the s**t out of you again. Are you and Eva fine? You Both aren't hurt, right?" I asked and he looked down. "The one who is hurt is you, not us. Do you even have any idea how scared I was... Don't do this again to me. Please.. I thought I lost and it was my fault.." His voice cracked in between and he seemed in too much regression. "No Kayd, don't blame yourself. It wasn't you fault. I am fine and everything's fine. Please don't cry." I told him feeling like crying in myself. I have never seen him like this before. Vulnerable.

He kissed my knuckles and I felt the luckiest that I have him beside me. I wiped away his tears and he didn't stop me. "Now stop crying. Your butt face is looking more weird." I said gently touching his cheek and then slapping playfully to make him smile. He did and kissed my forehead. "You both will never change." I heard mom's voice and she came, kissing me on forehead. "I'll call uncle Seb." Kayden got up, caressing my head and went out of the room. "How you feeling sweetie?" She asked sitting on the chair. "I am fine just a little dizzy and my leg is hurting a bit." I replied and she nodded. "You'll be fine. Dad's gonna check you and he'll Take care of you best." She said and I held her hand.

The door of my room opened and my dad, Kayden and a nurse emerged. Dad was looking paler and he was having bags under his eyes. Mum helped me to sit on the bed and dad hugged me gently. "Oh my Baby, I was so worried. How you feeling?" He settled back and checked my nerves. "A little dizzy and pain in my leg and wrist also." I replied as he told to nurse to give him the X-rays and tried to move my wrist but the pain was piercing. He got up and checked it on the flashing screen. He wrote something and give that to nurse as she went away.

"Hun, your right arm got a hair size fracture near your wrist and a  little glass cut in your left leg. Thanks to the girl who saved you." He came back and kissed my forehead. "You have to keep case on your arm and you're all over fine, Sweetheart. Your dad is here, Okay." He said as mum and Kayd went to drink coffee outside  they have been here all the time. 

A girl saved me? Who was she? I remember a voice, was that her's?

"You need something?" He asked me and now he sat in the chair. My people were having turns. "Yes dad, there is something I really want." I said as he took my drip attached hand in his big palms. It always felt safe with him. "What is it?" He asked gently waiting for my answer. "I need your time dad. Just a little bit. I miss you much. I want you to take me to amusement park like you used to take me when I was little." When I said that his eyes glazed sadness. "I am so sorry, Agnett. I know I barely give you the time. I miss you too as much you do. I promise I'll give you the time you deserve now. Okay." He said calmly and caressed my head.

"I almost lost my mind when I knew you almost died in fire. I am the worst dad." He said all sadly but I stopped him. "No you're not. It wasn't anyone's fault. No one's. So please don't blame on yourselves. Kayden is too sad over me, I don't want anyone to keep a burden of mistake that wasn't even yours. You both are my protector. And I m fine." I said as he hugged my gently, cautious to not hurt me. "Get well soon then we'll go wherever you ask. Just the two of us." He gave me a boop on nose and we laughed. I had always been close to dad. "Okay."

"Sir! We have an emergency in ward no. 16!" Dorothy, a middle aged nurse, came suddenly opening the door, in panicked voice she looked at me apologetically. I know almost every staff member because they have seen me since I was a child. Dorothy is the sub assistant nurse of Dad so she knows me too. She's very nice lady. "I'll be there. Take care Agnett. Kayden and you Mom gonna take turns until night, I'll be here by then." He said and headed outside. 

Another nurse came and plastered my wrist. It took around 20 minutes to finish it and then she went away, giving me medicines. Meanwhile Kayden came with vegetable soup. "Looks like I got some place to draw on." He said smiling and I laughed.

"It's actually really nice idea. At least then it'll match somewhere with my outfits." I said as he opened the bowl of soup and took a spoonful to feed me, blowing down a bit. I stared at him and wondered, where was my insane Kayden. He was looking all changed and matured now. He nudged me with the spoon on my lips telling me to eat. I took it and devoured the warm and salty taste. "It's delicious. Where's mum? Did she went home to make this for me?" I asked and he nodded. "Did you eat?" He shook his head and feed me another spoonful. 

"After this we'll go to canteen and have something for you. Ok. And I won't take no that's it." I said determined and he fed me the remaining soup. "No Agnett. I'll get it by myself. You are weak and your injury in leg still fresh. You take rest I'll be fine." He said taking the dishes aside and wiped my mouth. "Please Kayden, it's boring here. I wanna spend time with my bunny Kayden. Please..." I gave my best puppy face pouting, which he couldn't restrained ever. He sighed and gave up. "But we'll be back as soon as I'll finish up." He ordered and I mimicked him which made him laugh.

"Okay, also I wanna know about the girl who saved me. And you gonna tell me everything that happened after I passed out. I wanna thank her for saving my life " I said all drifting my mind towards her. Kayden looked at me suddenly. "You know what, I'll tell you everything! Can you walk? Never mind I'll be here!" Suddenly he was all weird and excited. What has gotten into him. I was still in my hospital gown so he helped me wear his loose jacket and slippers. The cut was around my calf and it was dressed up cleanly so I couldn't change. 

He took me holding by my waist and I was walking like zombie because my leg still hurt. But he was literally flying me through the way to the hospital canteen. We told the receptionist where we going and se headed outside. There were lot of patients and everyone was busy doing this and that. There was a nice park by the side of the hospital for patients which was really soothing and relaxing. The hospital was huge with glass windows and if was spread in lots of acers of land. Even though it was a government hospital, due to the oldest hospital, it improved a lot and because of best medical team and services, government contributes a lot of funds for this hospital. 

We eventually reached to the hospital canteen. It wasn't huge but big enough for the hospital staff and patient's guests. It wasn't too fancy but do stink kind of hospital smell. All the way it wasn't that bad, the furniture was nice and they decorated it with motivational quotes and beautiful light bulbs. Dad told me they have different canteen where the food for patients are made so it was for the visitors of the patients and staff members. Kayden took a seat by the window, helping me sat down, he went to take food from the counter. He came back with tomato sauce spaghetti and an omelette.

 "Kayd, give me your phone." I asked him and he gave without asking. My phone might have converted into ashes. I opened the camera and stared at my hilarious face. Hell! I didn't even combed my hairs since the time and It is looking like bird's nest. "Woah! I look ugly." I pouted giving him back his phone. "At least you know it now." He said laughing, choking in his food. I laughed and rubbed his back. "Now tell me what happened. I wanna know everything. I am just having this feeling that something weird gonna happen soon, I don't know." I said as I leaned back to my chair. He gulped the food and started to tell me everything. 

How he lost me and then he was so angry and helpless that he was venting it to everyone. Then the fire department came and saved people and how one of the firefighter managed to save me, even after crew members said that the floor I was in was empty. Then how everyone thought it's a man but turned out to be a girl and he also told me how embarrassed he felt because he hugged her soo tight. And then coming to hospital, telling everyone etc and all the story. 

"Trust me Agnett, she maybe a girl but oh god! The looks she got! She had tattoes and that undercut boy haircut. I mean it's so cool being an all sassy and work in fire department." He said all in amaze and I pictured her in my head. "Does she have coarse and deep voice? And did you asked her name?" I asked him because i was too curious now. "Yeah kind of. I don't remember and we were so worried for you that we forgot to ask her name." He replied finishing his food and I felt disappointed. "I really wanna thank her for saving me. Can we ask About her from the fire department?" I asked him as he took me outside the park and se sat on a bench, watching peoples. 

"Maybe but I am not sure if they are authorised to give the information of the employees. Get well soon then we'll try to get source of her." He said as I nodded. Cold wind brushed around us and it was almost 8 in morning. "What I'm gonna do about studies? I am not really good with typing otherwise I'll be fine with it." I asked him as we sat silently, his hand draped behind me. "I'll take care of that don't worry. You aren't good with typing but I am the God of computers!" He said setting his hairs in mocking way. "Yeah! And Grandpa of Charles Babbage!" I jokes and laughed so hard that he was looking at me weirdly. 

"Whatever. Eva and me will come to see you around 2 because she have to go to school and it's almost 8:30 so I'll be going too. I promise I'll be back with her. Uncle Seb gonna be with you and when I'll go Aunty Neena will come to take care of you, okay." He said and I nodded. We sat there for a little bit more feeling the peace.

"Kayd, can you tie my hairs?" I asked him as he settled me on bed. My hairs were already a mess and they were getting messier. "I am not sure but let me try." He said as I faced my back to him. He used his fingers to comb my hairs and made a ponytail which was too loose but okay for me. "Is it fine?" He asked at he showed it to me in camera. "Thanks. It's good." I replied smiling at him. He look proud. I love my My stupid b***h.

"Okay so I'll be back soon. Take care and don't roam around because you still hurt." He said giving me my medicines and went away kissing my forehead. I was all alone now, bored and lonely. I sighed and drifted into sleep. When I woke up it was 11:30 and sun was shining gold. I glanced around hoping I'll find something to pass my time but unfortunately nothing was there. As empty my brain was as much I was thinking about the girl who saved me, how will I get her contact sources. I was a alive because of her. Suddenly the door opened and dad came in.

"How you feeling, sweetie? Dizzy anymore? Pain in your leg or arm?" He asked as he examined me again. "I m fine dad but I m dying in boredom. There is nothing here to do, can't I go back home taking you with me?" I hugged and he shook his head. "Health is first Agnett. I am not letting you go back now and also because of that fire lots of patients are in critical conditions so I have to stay here." He said as he took some books from the bag he came with and put them on side table. "You can read them, you love reading, right." He caressed my head and smiled.

"Thanks, Dad." I replied lazily as mum appeared from the door. She approached dad and gave a peck. "Take care honey. I'll be here with Her." Mum told him and he nodded heading back as she came and sat beside me. "Mom, how's your cafe's work going? You don't have to stay here all time you can do that." I told her thinking she was managing a lot too. "It's ok sweetie, my employees will take care of that. And look what I got you." She assured me as she took out my laptop. "Oh Mom thankyou! I was dying here without anything." I squealed and she laughed. We watched a movie together and eventually time passed by.

It was 2 p.m. and Mom slept watching beside my bed. She must be tired. I got up and put a shawl on her struggling and went to bathroom. I washed my face a bit and fixed my hair as much I could and put lip balm from the bag tht Mom got for me. I took my stick with me and headed outside the room trying not to wake her up. I don't wanted a burden. I strolled here and there with my slow pace until I saw an old lady struggling to get up.

I went inside the room and helped her to get up. "Oh thankyou dear! I was stuck like forever and these stupid nurses, get away God knows where when we need them." She said and I laughed. She was looking pretty with her thick white hairs and beautiful red lipstick. A confident diva. "What happened to you dear?" She asked as I settled on a chair near her, tucking my stick on wall.

"Well, I was stuck in the fire that happened last night so I broke my wrist and little cut in my leg." I told her and she made a sad face. "Oh don't worry Sweetheart, you gonna be fine. You are such a nice girl that you helped me even though you are injured. Thankyou." She thanked me and gave a pat on my cheek as I saw that she had lot's of books on her table. I smiled and we talked. I glanced around and there were around 5 to 7 patients in the room but the bed beside her was empty. A belt bracelet with 'R' letter was resting on the table, it must be that person's. Who is here?

"Do you read books too?" I asked her and she nodded. "I love it. Being in hospital for 1 year taught me to pass time anyway. Old people like us can't use phone and laptop for long time." She said and I got an idea. "Can I come here and read with you? I be alone at times and I want a nice company like you." I asked and she looked delighted. "No questions Hun! You can come anytime you want." I smiled and starting to get up. "I'll be going now. It was nice to meet you grandma." I said and she caressed my head.

I was heading to the door and suddenly tripeped as I reached outside. I couldn't balance and the stick fell from my hand, causing me to fall down but before I could kiss the floor squealing, an strong arm held me so I was hugging that person. I sighed in relief as I held the person close and felt the biceps. Woah!

"Are you okay? You hurt anywhere?" This voice...

I try to stand up as the person who seem to be a guy helped me by the waist. So warm. I was near the crook of his neck and oh....this black licorice and Lavender mixed scent...crazy.

"Can you stand up on your own?" Again this voice.

"Oh my god! I am soo sorry! I didn't mean to Si-" Those eyes.

Those black eyes staring back at me with shock and those link lips. I felt the hand tightening around my waist pulling us almost into each other and I trailed my hands to his chest slowly. I felt full in my palms until.... I saw and realised what I did....this isn't a guy.

My eyes widened and I pulled myself back jerkly.

What the hell was I thinking!

"Ooh God! I am so sorry! I didn't mean to! I didn't realised" I tried to balance myself getting away but she held my hand again. Warm. She was just staring at me not believing if I am alien or ghost. Why does she look so surprised?

"It's fine. You are not hurt, right?" She asked my tearing her gaze away from me as she took my stick from the floor and headed me. I steadied myself and apologised to her. She was manly beautiful. Messy Whiffed black hairs, black t-shirt, blue ripped jeans and what to say about those... tattoos. Sexy!

I need to stop my stupid Braincells to work this fast!

"I- I am fine. I am sorry. I don't know his I tripped. Did I hurt your arm? Please let me take you for examination." I apologized as she stared me with that look. "It's fine. You're unable to hold yourself how you going to take me. Let me help you to take you back to the room. You hurted your leg and arm both." She said fixing her hairs and supporting brace. Why can't I look away from her? Maybe I like her tattoos that's why. You thinking too much!

"Okay. Thanks and sorry again." I replied and she nodded smiling. Oh god! Look away Agnett!  "I need to give some medicines to a patient. Why don't you come and meet her she'll love you." She asked pointing to Grandma and I smiled. "We have already met today. I like her too." I replied and she looked at me in 'are you serious?' look. She went and gave Grandma flora her medicines and came back directly helding me by my waist. I gasped at the touch and walk with her. "Let's go."

I felt her staring at me in between the walks and I felt red all over my face. Why is she affecting my so much? It's not like we met her before or we know each other, right? And her voice seem so familiar it soothes my ears.

"How did you got hurt?" I asked her and she stiffened a little. I hope I didn't ask something weird.

"Agnett!" I heard a yelling voice before she could say anything and I saw that my b***h was running towards me from far away. "He'll get beaten up in the hospital if someone hear him." I said shooking my head and she suddenly stopped. "I think he'll take you from here. I have got to do an important phone call so take care. Is it fine?" She asked me suddenly helpless and hurriedly. I looked at her confused but nodded eventually. Soon her warm hand left my waist and she went back.

"I told you to not roam around like a ghost! You never listen to me!" Kayden held me and yelled right into my ear. "Oh god! Have mercy on my ear! I am fine don't tell!" I yelled back intentionally getting close to his ear. He pulled away. "Shut up! And get back!" He scolded and I huffed but went back. "Who was with you?" He asked suddenly and my mind drifted to her again. "Oh she was someone really nice who helped me when I almost fell." I replied Normally and he looked at me in horror like I am crazy.

"You are soo careless sometimes I go crazy." He scolded again but I chose to be silent. "I am sorry." I said as we entered into the room where Mom was looking at me, narrowed eyes. "Mom I don't wanted to wake you up. You were tired so I went by myself. Sorry." She sighed and helped me lay down. "Be careful Agnett. Because your stitches are fresh." Kayden said a but loudly and I didn't reply.

I was back on my bed and was feeling sleepy. I heard door opening and closing and Eva came in."Eva!" I screamed and she rushed to hug me. "I missed you." She muffled in my shoulders and I patted her head. "Me too."

"How are you? Sorry I couldn't come to see before." She said sitting on the chair and Kayden was talking to someone on phone. "It's fine. I am alright. How are you?" I asked her and and replied with fine.

"I got us ice cream. Kayden! Get here I got you butterscotch and here is chocolate for you." She handed both of us each and got the strawberry for herself.

We ate together and chatted all the way. The time we three spend together are the best. After that Eva went back. Kayden stayed with me and dad was already here. He gave me medicines and slept on couch. I drifted into sleep.

I woke up around 3 a.m having a urge to see her. I don't know why, but I wanted to see her. She has been stuck in my mind the moment I saw her. There is just something about her that's keeping my mind to think about her. Something was bothering in my guts that if she's alright. So I went away as silently as I could, not waking up Kayden, my Potato had a long all day. But I better be back soon before he wake up

I walked through the corridors and stopped in her ward. I glanced inside and everyone was sleeping except the nurses and doctor but she wasn't in there. I searched her around to see if she is somewhere else but no, so in disappointment, I decided to stay outside in park for bit. I walked in slow pace and I reached there, I saw a figure laying on a bench moving uneasily and I noticed the black bracelet with 'R' initials. It's her. My heart felt happiest.

RAVEN~

"Noo Jake! Don't breathe! I am here! I'll take you no matter what!" I shouted to him but his fragile figure was almost giving up. Everywhere was flame, haunting red flames.

"Raven, I love you. You are not bad and you're not different. You are my big sister who is the loveliest person on this earth. I'll never jugde you because you take care of everyone"

"Jack! Don't say anything I told you to not breath in open! I am almost there!" I shouted as I freed myself from the metal that was pinning my small legs under it.

"I got you!" Tears streamed down at my face like pool as I held him tight to my chest. My Jack.

"Mom is wrong sister, don't believe her *cough* I know you. You are just like others and me. I'll always love you." He said wiping my face with his tiny hands and I cried harder. No Jack no! I tried to take us out but there was no way out. I searched for the entrances but suddenly I was blocked by a pillar to him.

"No! No no no! No!! Jack!!!! Answer me Jack! You can't leave your Raven like this!!! I love you please! Little brother!" I choked back my tears and yelled from the top of my lungs. Whole place was burning and I couldn't get to him, he wasn't answering.

"Brother..... brother!!!! No no!"

"Aaaaaaaaahhhhh!!"

"Hey! Hey! It's okay! It's just a bad Dream. You are alright. It's fine." I woke up screaming loudly as someone held my in arms. I hugged even tighter pouring all my fear into the protective arms.

"It's ok. You are safe."
