HE IS TROUBLE, SO I AM
They called him dangerous.
Tattoos. Fights. Detentions. A smirk that promised chaos.
I was Raha Mehra — the “good girl,” the teacher’s favorite.
But no one knew my secret: I wasn’t as innocent as I looked.
Rian Kapoor was everything I shouldn’t want.
But when trouble meets trouble…
Sparks fly, rules break, and hearts shatter.
And loving him might just destroy me.
---
Chapter 1 — “The First Rule I Broke” 🖤✨
“He was trouble.
The kind my parents warned me about.
The kind that ruins good girls like me.
But here’s the thing…
I’ve never been good at staying away from trouble.”
---
— The Warning
“Raha, don’t even think about looking at him,” Siya hissed, tugging at my sleeve as we walked through the school courtyard.
I frowned, adjusting my glasses, distracted by the weight of the biology textbook in my arms.
“What are you talking about?”
Siya tilted her chin toward the far end of the courtyard, and I followed her gaze.
Rian Kapoor.
Leaning casually against his black Yamaha bike, one earbud in, shirt untucked, tie missing, tattoos peeking from under his rolled-up sleeves.
His messy black hair caught the sunlight, and he had that smirk — the one every girl at St. Paul’s whispered about in hushed tones.
There were rumors about him.
Fights. Police warnings. A suspension last year for allegedly punching a teacher’s son.
“Raha, seriously,” Siya muttered, clutching my arm. “If you like living, stay away from him.”
“Relax,” I whispered back, laughing nervously. “I’m not stupid.”
But then… his eyes lifted.
And landed on mine.
It was only a second — maybe less — but something in that moment shifted.
Like gravity bent.
Like every warning in the world dissolved.
---
— The Collision
After chemistry, I rushed to the library to return a book, hugging my notebook close.
I turned the corner—
Thud.
I stumbled back, my notebook flying from my hands and scattering papers everywhere.
“Watch it, princess,” a deep voice drawled lazily.
I froze.
The voice.
I looked up… and there he was.
Rian Kapoor.
Up close, he was worse than the rumors.
Sharp jawline. Storm-gray eyes that looked like they could strip you bare. A faint scar cutting across his eyebrow, giving him that reckless edge.
He crouched down, picking up one of my scattered papers.
When his gaze scanned the equations, his lips curved into a smirk.
“Topper, huh?” He twirled the page between his fingers.
“Figures.”
“Thanks,” I murmured, grabbing the paper and stepping aside, desperate to escape the intensity of his stare.
But before I could leave, he moved right, blocking my path.
“Raha Mehra,” he said softly, like testing the taste of my name.
I froze. “How do you know my name?”
He leaned forward, close enough that his faint cologne wrapped around me, dizzying.
“I know everything, princess,” he whispered.
A pause.
“Including the fact that you should stay far away from me.”
My heart stuttered.
“Then stop standing in my way,” I whispered back before I could stop myself.
And for the first time, his smirk faltered — just for a heartbeat.

: Detention
Two hours later, irony laughed in my face.
I was sitting in detention.
With him.
Don’t ask how — wrong place, wrong time.
(Okay, fine, maybe I “accidentally” mouthed off to a teacher when Rian laughed at something in class. Don’t judge me.)
The classroom was empty except for us.
I sat at the first bench, pretending to read, while Rian lounged on the last bench, legs stretched out, spinning a pen lazily.
“You don’t belong here,” he said suddenly.
I turned, raising an eyebrow. “Neither do you.”
His smirk deepened.
“That’s exactly the problem.”
Before I could respond, the door creaked open.
Mr. Sinha, our strictest teacher, poked his head in.
“Kapoor, Mehra — principal’s office. Now.”
I blinked. “What? Why?”
But Rian was already on his feet, walking out casually like he owned the corridor.
---
— Principal’s Office Drama
Inside the principal’s office, Rian leaned against the wall, arms crossed, while I stood stiffly like I’d been sentenced to death.
The principal slammed a file shut.
“Raha, this is unlike you. Skipping classes? Talking back? And you—”
His glare shifted to Rian.
“This is your last warning.”
I opened my mouth to protest, but Rian spoke first.
“It was my fault.”
I whipped my head toward him, shocked.
He didn’t look at me, just kept staring at the floor like it didn’t matter.
The principal sighed.
“One more strike, Kapoor, and you’re out.”
I expected Rian to react, to argue — but he just walked out.
Not a word.
---
— Unexpected Rescue
After school, I walked alone toward the gate, frustrated and fuming.
“Hey, topper.”
I turned. Rian leaned against his bike, watching me.
“You’re welcome,” he said casually.
“For what?” I snapped.
“Taking the blame for you.”
I hesitated, confused. “Why would you do that?”
He smirked faintly.
“Maybe I like watching you owe me.”
Before I could reply, a group of seniors appeared from behind the parking lot — three boys, taller and older.
Their leader, Kabir, sneered.
“Raha Mehra, right? You’re standing in my parking spot.”
“I… what?” I stammered.
Before I could step aside, Kabir reached for my notebook, yanking it from my hands.
Rian’s voice dropped like ice.
“Put it back.”
Kabir laughed. “Or what?”
Crack.
The next thing I knew, Rian’s fist connected with Kabir’s jaw.
Chaos exploded — shouting, fists, shoving — and all I could do was watch as Rian fought three boys like a storm unleashed.
---
— The Dangerous Pull
When it was over, Kabir and his gang limped away, muttering curses.
Rian turned to me, breathing heavily, a small cut bleeding on his lip.
“You okay, princess?”
I nodded, heart pounding. “Why… why would you do that?”
He stepped closer, his voice low, dangerous.
“Because you don’t get it, Raha.”
A pause.
“You’re mine now.”
I blinked, stunned. “Excuse me?”
He smirked, wiping the blood from his lip.
“Trouble found you, princess. And once it does… it doesn’t let go.”
---
Before I could respond, my phone buzzed.
A new message.
Unknown Number:
“Stay away from Rian Kapoor… or you’ll regret it.”
I froze.
Because whoever sent that message…
was watching us.
