C H A P T E R 16

NINE’s POV

We reported what happened to Mel and we also confirmed that it is the Black Blood’s doing so we must take good care of each other. I wonder if the previous Maple Class experience this,too. However, a lot of things are running inside my head. Why did they target Mel? Is it because she is vulnerable? Weak? Or still not capable of her abilities? Why did the bad winds listen to Bella? Is Bella one of  them? I was in a deep thought when someone tapped my shoulder.

“Your mind is too noisy bro.” It was Kim. I scoot a little and he sat beside me.

“Yeah, I wonder why though.”

“Me too. I want to know the answer.” He said then sigh.

I know Kim has something for Mel. Kim sacrificed a lot last time just for my sake but it was all ruined. I didn’t took a great part for it. I also think of Mel as a lady. I wanted to protect her with all my might.

I am planning to confront him about this.

“Kim, I would like to talk to you about something.”

“Spill.” he said blankly. I know he can reads it since I still can’t close my mind.

“Its about Mel.” I said heavily.

“Hmm-what about it?” He is damn serious and his expression changed. Now, I feel bad but I have to fight,right?

“I’m into her.” I straightly said.

“Guilty. I’m into her,too.” he said then smirked.

“I want to pursue her,Kim.” I said then he looked at me seriously.

“Are you sure about that,Nine?” He said as if he cannot imagine that I can do it.

“Yes. I’m serious.”

“Are you sure that you love her and not just using her as an aid for your past relationship?” He asked straight into my eyes.

Actually, I had a crush on her since the day she stepped into the school but, love? I think no.

“But I can learn to love her while pursuing her,right?” I asked like a child having a bright idea on my head.

“That’s not love,Nine. You’re using her as your cover.” He said then stood up. “Please do not do that to,Melody. She is fragile,pure and vulnerable. I cannot afford to see her cry,Nine.” He is right. Mel is too innocent to deal with. But, this is my decision.

“My decision is final,Kim. Whether you like it or not, I am going to court her and I can love her while pursuing her.” I walked out after I said that.

I know our friendship may be at risk but, I have to make her as my girl. I don’t know why I’m doing this but one thing’s for sure, I like her and I want to be with her. This time, no failures. No,unsaid and undid promises, no regret, no doubt. I trust my feelings and I will do everything I can to get her.

ZEL’s POV

Watching her asleep is like an angel. She is too perfect to look at. But, I wonder why is she the target of the Black Bloods? Why are they after her? We should be very careful by now. I snapped back to reality when I hear her groan.

“Mel, you’re awake.” I said while smiling.

She smiled back and reached for my hand. I hold it and pressed it then said,”Thank you.”

I find it cute and thought that so this is Mel when she’s comfortable with you.

She sat up and asked,” What happened?”

Her pale lips are saying that she’s thirsty. So, I gave her a small amount of ambrosia, as what the physician says just to quench her thirst.

“You actually said that before you pass out.” I answered her.

She thinks a little and held her head with her hands.

“Please don’t use your ability as of now. The physician said that you’re in a critical condition. You must heal first.”

When did you take me here?” she asked then her eyes roam around the hospital.

“Almost 5 hours.” then she sigh.

The room was filled with silence and she said,”Can I trust you,Zel?”

I am shocked by her question but yeah, you can count on me.

“All ears.”

“Actually Zel, I’m a human. I came from the human world.” So, no wonder why is her beauty is unique to everyone. I didn’t spill a word but I held her hand tightly.

“The reason why I’m here is that, a bad guy tried to kill me. He wears all black and his eyes are so red.”

She means the Black Bloods?

“Why are they after you?” I can’t help but to ask.

“I don’t know either. My dad is still there in the human world. I don’t know what happened to her when I left. We had no contact.”she said then a tear escaped her eye.

“It is okay. You’ll be fine.”

“My dad says that coming here will resolve my questions and I am secure here. But, I doubt that I’m safe here. What happened to me is a big sign that even here in the Realm, I am not safe.” She cried silently. I know the pain when you’re crying silently.

“You’ll get through it. We will protect you no matter what.” I assured her with a smile.

“And actually Zel,when I suffer from a severe pain earlier, I saw a memory. But I cannot see it clearly. It is so blurry.” I wonder what that is.

“You can clearly see it soon. Just you wait,okay?” she nodded and smiled.

Mel is too precious. I now feel bad for her. She went through a lot of pain. I am sure she is tired.

I also feel bad for myself. Mel trusts me but I still cannot trust her.

She is still new to me and this introverted ass makes me feel bad.

She ask for a food and I immediately gave her one.

While we are savoring our food, Mr. Deiv came in together with an unknown woman.
