The house was quiet, It's still dawn and I and Cain was still inside sleeping. I had always been a light sleeper, it was due to the years of training when I was in army, we can't predict what can happen, and that instinct kicked in when I heard the the creak of the front door of my house being opened. I sat up immediately, I picked up the knife I always kept under my pillow. I listened and was waiting for the intruder to make a movement.
