"Make sure no one from our other neighbourhood spots us, and always stick to my side, ok?" I had brought him to the park, it was the only thing i could think of.
"So...football?" he asked hopefully, "And what's with all the rules?"
"i just don't feel like meeting up with my old 'friendly' neighbours, plus I've seen my-oomph" Joe had jumped onto my shoulders and covered my eyes.
"Here's how this game goes, you'll be my arms and legs and I'll be your eyes. when i see a former neighbour I'll alert you. deal? good" he answered himself without even giving me the space to answer. i mumbled some sweet profanities under my breathe then waited.
"Walk," i started walking carefully one shaky step after the next, "Chillax sis, i got you, now turn left," I obeyed then kept walking.
"Ooo cool ride,"
"Joe I swear if I fall..."
"i'm looking sheesh, crap! about turn and walk fast. nosy neighbour two o'clock."
I quickly did as told. a few steps forward and i bumped into something...hard-and warm-with a beating heart I tensed as his arm wrapped around my waist and Joe's arms left my eyes as his legs tightened around my neck.
'I thought you were looking Joe" i muttered in between my gritted teeth but it came out kinda muffled. this guy we bumped into was kinda built. once i was stable, Joe quickly returned his hands to my eyes.
"Joe-"
"i said I'll be your eyes remember..." i could practically feel him roll his eyes. putting that aside i pushed myself off this stranger then turned around and started walking in the opposite direction.
"That wouldn't be a good idea," the guy behind me said, was it Jasper?
What the actual f**k!
"We'll be needing the boy." a knew voice said. i didn't recognize this one.
"Excuse me?" I slowly put Joe down and put him behind me after deciding that jasper was safer than this other one. was it Joshua? i recognized him from Parker's crew. i looked around to see if i could spot that f*****g son of a b***h.
"Over my f*****g dead body!" i spat out venomously.
"Well sweetheart, I guess we'll have to take him by force." Jasper said with a smirk on his face. I looked at him shocked. He knew my past-heck he had even helped me through some of my fixes- and now he was going up against me! wow- talk about backstabber in real flesh.
"Just hand him over kl-chloe. we'll give him back." Jasper said trying to sound convincing. well try again it isn't working.
"you're not getting my brother, unless you kill me. so you can either kill me or excuse me, we have more important things to do ."
"Well, thank God I'm not chivalrous." Joshua muttered under his breath as he swung his fist towards me. I dodged it nearly getting hit, that had caught me by surprise.
"I need you to stay behind me at all times okay. This is just a little high school grudge ok. don't be scared." I added quickly when i saw his expression begin to change.
"It's not going to be like that time with mommy and daddy?" tears had already began to well up in his eyes. i pulled him in for a hug then quickly pushed him back and managed to swing a left hook at Joshua.
"You really aren't the gentleman are you? bring it asshole."
"Such dirty language before your little brother" jasper quipped.
"Shut the f**k up Jasper." i managed to hit him with my knee in his sensitives which made him double over in agony taking that opportunity I connected my knee to his jaw and heard a crack, I mentally cringed that was gonna leave a mark.
Joshua launched himself at me trying to tackle me to the ground. Well try harder boy. I hit him square on the jaw and tripped him kicking him in the abdomen. I left them both on the ground trying to get over their pain. I quickly turned going to grab for Joe who was missing. What. The. f**k.
"Joe! Joe!" Where the f**k did he go to dammit!
Then Joshua started chuckling as he spat out blood.
"Where is he? What have you assholes done with my brother!!" I was getting hysterical trying to keep myself in check hoping that I wouldn't draw a crowd. I was beginning to panic.
"I told you he won't get hurt." Jasper said as he got up. He helped Joshua to his feet. Joshua smirked at me and walked away. Jasper made as if to go away then I said," I'll never forgive you for this Jasper "
He looked hesitant then turned to me and said, "then I guess I'll just have to live with it."
I was desperate. "Why are you doing this?" My voice came out as barely a whisper but I knew he heard.
"I don't have a choice." He had a pained expression on his face as he walked away.
Jasper's pov
I watched as Joe was taken away by Trent as Klara, I mean Chloe beat Joshua up.
I couldn't help but feel that guilty pang that was nagging me at doing this to an old friend but I owed Keith my life. So ordinarily I'd stay loyal to him until I saved his life in return.
I watched her turn and her scared expression as she registered that Joe was missing.
"Joe! Joe!" She swept her eyes over the park and Joshua started chuckling as he spat out blood. That was completely disgusting.
"Where is he? What have you assholes done with my brother!" She muttered angrily getting hysterical. She had this wild look in her eyes that scared me shitless. If she wasn't careful she'd draw a crowd
"I told you he won't get hurt." I stood up and dusted myself then helped Joshua up. I could see the disbelief clearly in her eyes. Joshua smirked at her then walked away. Clearly going to clean himself up.
I turned ready to leave then she suddenly said, "I'll never forgive you for this Jasper."
Bros before hoes. Bros before hoes. I kept repeating this mantra to myself her words hurting me to the core.
"Then I guess I'll just have to leave with it." I wanted to escape this. I felt bad as it was for physically hurting her but knowing what happened with her parents and still doing this to her I could only imagine what she was feeling.
"Why are you doing this?" I could imagine the way she was feeling probably dying inside. She was this close to crying I could hear the trembles in her voice.
"I don't have a choice." I turned and walked away before she could say anything else.
Chloe's POV
I wanted to sink to the ground and cry but I had to stay strong. I had to stay strong for Joe. I knew Keith was behind this he better not hurt my brother. I already knew it was that stupid girl Ashley who told him where to find me. That is a bone I'd have to pick later important matters first.
I removed my phone from my pocket then looked up Keith's number on true caller.
He picked up on the third ring, "where is he?"
"Hello to you too Chloe. Lovely weather we're having."
"Where is he?"
"No formalities-"
"Dammit Parker, where is he?!" My voice was menacingly low.
"You'll find us at the cliff. You got 5 minutes." He said and hang up.
The cliff was a restaurant not too far from the park. The only thing that made me worry was the dangerous cliff right behind it. One wrong footstep and you're dead.
I rushed to where I had left my bike only to find it trashed. Of all f*****g days. I can't call Donald again!!! Should I go GTA??? I had no time to ask for a car, lemme not be busted. I muttered under my breath crossing my fingers.
I rushed to the parking lot and so a biker coming to park.
"I'll be right back with it." I told him as I tossed him out of his bike with the keys still in the ignition and sped away.
"Just return it Klara." I knew that voice. Jasper! f**k it all.
