Three years earlier... The maternity ward at Seabrook General Hospital was unusually quiet. It was just after two o'clock in the morning. Most of the lights had been dimmed, allowing new mothers and their babies to rest peacefully. Nurses moved quietly through the corridors, checking patients and updating medical charts. Inside Room 308, Emily lay asleep, exhausted after nearly twelve hours of labor. Beside her bed, two transparent bassinets stood side by side. One held a tiny baby boy wrapped in a light blue blanket. The other held a baby girl sleeping peacefully beneath a pink blanket. Noah and Nora.
