Morgan The small fire crackled and popped, throwing off a small amount of heat. I fed it some small sticks to keep it burning, a must if we were going to make it through the cold night. I hugged my knees close to my chest as I watched them burn, though I wasn"t sure if it was the emotions or the exhaustion that was making me feel so despondent. Perhaps it was a combination of both. Days of walking had taken it out of me, and there were still two more ahead of us before we reached our destination.
