Chapter 7

2083 Words

Chapter 7Tim was at his apartment Friday night, trying to decide whether or not to text Kevin and ask if he’d come over, when he heard someone knocking at his front door. He sighed when, through the peephole, he saw Jake standing in the hall. They hadn’t spoken since Jake had accused him of sleeping with Caleb a few weeks earlier. “I want my apartment keys back,” Tim said after opening the door. “I didn’t just let myself in,” Jake said as he walked in, carrying a backpack. “You let yourself into the building.” “Yeah, but not into your apartment. I figured you might have another hot date with my brother and I didn’t want to interrupt, so that’s why I knocked first.” “Whatever, Jake. I’m tired of explaining myself to you.” Jake dropped his backpack to the floor and unzipped his jacket.
