Dany was exhausted after her trip to the doctor. He’d given her stitches and told her not to play with Frost for a while. It was very late, and Rose had gone home. But she laid in bed and every time she tried to sleep, she dreamt of the bear chewing off her leg, or that guy with her mom shooting at her foot. Giving up, she stood up and limped down the short hallway to her uncle’s bedroom. She couldn’t believe that he’d said he would adopt her. She was afraid it was just a dream.
