Christmas in Harlem meant there was a big lit up tree in the center of town. Dany and her friends were dressed up in warm parkas, and had funny moose horns on their heads, while they strolled up and down the streets with little triangles, bells and poles with stars on them, singing carols. Each time they came to a house to sing a carol, the people inside gave them doughnuts or cookies. When their singing ended, everyone came together in the community hall for feasting and dancing and having an all around good time. Some of the kids also played in a theater piece for the younger ones, a story about Santa and a sad reindeer that didn't fit in with his peers, because he had only one horn.
