The Moon

I woke up with the Moon still shining in my room. it wasn't a full moon but close. I looked around my room, still in a daze. when I did look around I realized I wasn't in my room at all. There were giant trees around me, a slight breeze swayed the leaves and blew my hair gently. I looked up at the Moon, it shown so brightly it looked like it was smiling at me. I sat up, I was wearing a white cotton dress that went to my ankles. I never liked these dresses. I thought to myself.

Flowers started to grow in almost a path towards the forest. I breathed in and out slowly and walked next to the flowers. the Moon made the white flowers even brighter than they were already. it felt forever that I was walking, but it was probably only a few minutes. the flowers lead me to a beach. I loved the smell of the ocean and the salty air. I loved it even more knowing it was just me.

I looked around and saw a lady with long blonde hair that went past her waist. she wore a white dress almost like mine but it was shiny with the Moon light. i was hesitant to walk towards her but I felt a pull. Even at six years old I understood that pull I felt was for a reason.

"Please do not stand there Roseth, come closer child." the lady said sweetly almost singing. "I will not harm you my sweet. There are things you need to know and some you will soon find out." I walked closer to the lady. once I was close enough she turned to face me. I was speechless. Her eyes are a bright blue almost teal color. Her hair was a Bright blonde like mine. Full pink lips, a slight blush on her cheeks. She looked like an older version on myself.

"My dear child, yes we look almost the same. I can not tell you why at the moment you are still too young to comprehend. Just know there is a reason." she smiled at me while talking. she held out her hand to me. I smiled and gladly took it. a spark ignited at the touch of our hands. I didn't pull aways but welcomed it. Surprisingly it didn't hurt me, which made me feel it was supposed to happen.

We sat on the beach looking out at the ocean for awhile. "Roseth I brought you here to explain a few things to you. I am sorry for what had happened to you, but know it was for a reason. I see everything but I can not always interfere with ones decisions. You will face hard times my child, but know everything happens for a reason. Sandra is there to help and to guide you, she can not protect you forever." I stayed quite to try and process what the lady has told me. it's sad to think Sandra won't always be there, I'll treasure the time I do have with her.

"what can I call you Miss?" I asked quietly. her laugh filled the air. "you can call me Callisto my dear." she gently put her hand threw my hair. I smiled and closed my eyes. Callisto's touch was very calming, almost like a mother's touch. "you will see me again Roseth. Trust that I am always will you and will always be looking after you." Callisto looked at the Moon while telling me this. she soon vanished leaving behind a white light.

I closed my eyes and walked into the ocean until my feet were covered completely. I don't know why I felt the need to be in the water but I did. I slowly lifted my hand towards the water. the water slowly lifted as well. shocked at what I did I lost my control and the water splashed all over me. I was soaked, but wasn't cold from it. I was still surprised I haven't seen Lilith anywhere. Maybe this was just for me and only me.

I closed my eyes and the next thing I knew I was in my room laying on my bed again. I looked to my right side and saw Lilith laying on the end of my bed. she's always there and never leaves. I wonder what Callisto thinks about Lilith. maybe I'll ask her next time I see her.

Sandra walks in the room after knocking. As soon as Sandra walks I run into her arms and hug her like my life depend on it. "Roseth this is a surprise. You hardly give me hugs willingly unless you are hurting." I looked up into her amber eyes with tears running down my cheeks. "Oh dear me. What happened Roseth?" Sandra wiped my tears gently from my face. "Just a dream." I said looking away from her. I didn't want her to see I was hurting from what Callisto told me about Sandra.

Lilith walked over to me and hugged me. She new something happened while I was asleep. "I'm okay." I whisper to her. Lilith smiled sadly "I don't believe you Roseth. please tell me later okay?" I nodded to her. I didn't realize Sandra was staring at me with a curious look. I smiled at her then sat on my bed. "Is mother still mad at me for yesterday?" Sandra sighed and nodded her head while going to my closet. I looked at the ground while getting up to use the bathroom. Sandra came in and helped me wash myself in the tub. I loved taking baths with my soaps, it always smells good. I normally do this myself, but Sandra wanted to help. She new I needed her without me telling her.

After the bath Sandra helped me with my light peach summer dress. She helped me put my hair into a loose bun at the top of my head. sandra always made time to show me and teach me how to do my hair. I was getting better at it. The buns I always had a hard time with. once we were done Sandra lead me to the dinning room for breakfast. I heard voices but once I walked in it stopped. My mother and Father sat at the table with a few people from the wedding yesterday. I took a deep breathe in and out before I spoke. "I am sorry for my misbehavior yesterday Mother, it will not happen again." I kept my voice from wavering too much. Mother stood up along with father they both walked towards me. Sandra bowed her head and took a few steps away from me. I knew she didn't want to move away from me but did it out of fear of Mother.

"Rose dear I do not believe anyone told you to leave your room did they?" she asked while rasing an eyebrow at me. Sandra stiffened at what she heard. "I am sorry Mother. You only told me to stay in my room for the party. You haven't mentioned about the next day."

SLAP

"do not disrespect me you ungrateful little tramp."

I held my cheek and kept my tears from falling. I bowed my head while looking at the ground.

"Sandra take her to the basement. she gets nothing." mother walked away with father. He gave me an evil eye with a slight smirk on his face. I shivered at his gaze. Sandra led me to the basement and put me in a cell that I always end up being in. at least there's a bed and normal toilet. "I'll do what I can Roseth to help." Sandra looked at me with a pained expression and tears in her eyes. "don't let mother see you Sandra, there's no point. mother will always do these types of things for any reason." I sat on the bed and watched her walk away.

"Lilith what is going to happen to me now that we have a cruel mother and father. it will be too much for me to bear." I laid on the bed while Lilith stood by the door. "I won't let anything happen Roseth. You are my sister." I fell asleep somehow with no food or water to satisfy me. my last thought was about the dream I had with Callisto.
