The Retirement

Chapter Five

The alpha of the crescent moon pack , Chris's father seated on his throne like chair looking weak and tired as a result of old age .Chris went into the room straight to where he was seated ready to be scolded for Sabrina's sake but the state he saw his father was so unfortunate the alpha was aging rapidly probably because of stress of handling the pack troubles .

Looking at my father my heart broke into many shackles I couldn't believe that the strong alpha I once knew could be this fragile ,my father is about to retire which rests the burden of an alpha on my shoulders.After the conversation with him ,he has decided to do it tonight which means am to resume the role of an alpha tonight , an alpha can't be Mateless I assumed my father wants me to make Sabrina my Luna but I can't wait to introduce my fated mate tonight Chris thought smiling to himself.

Amber looking all refreshed and beautiful seated on the bed alone she can't help but long for the stranger ,she doesn't understand what is going on with her longing for someone she just met few minutes ago ,suddenly the door opened,she lift her eyes in hope of meeting the stranger but instead she saw a blonde girl standing tall showing intimidating aura ,immediately fear gripped Amber which is exactly what Sabrina wants ,walking towards Amber she thundered with a loud and menacing voice "Who the hell are you " the frightened Amber could not say a thing she was just shaking in fear ,Sabrina grabbed her by the neck squeezing to crush ,she leans in whispered to Amber's ear " Chris is my mate and I don't intend to share so go back to wherever you came from " Amber not really understanding what the word " Mate" actually means but the thought of it breaks her heart ,she nodded instantly,Sabrina let go off her neck she ran out of the house not knowing where she was heading to she just want to get away from the jealous blonde woman,the more she thought of it the faster she runs into the woods .

Chris couldn't wait for the conversation with his father to end and return to his mate , immediately the conversation was over ,he rush out of the room heading straight to his chamber,opening the door with face full of smiles. Upon seeing Sabrina seated on the bed his expression changed ,gazing around the room looking for his mate and her scent became faint , in an instant he grabbed Sabrina by the neck lifting her off the ground making hard for her to breath ,his expression became more dangerous and threatening .Sabrina scared to death and grasping the velocity of the situation pointed at the direction of the woods through the window Chris let go of her neck and she fell to the floor grasping for air coughing profusely and he zoomed off straight into the woods .

Running through the woods ,the leaves on the branches slapping through her face scratching her here and there ,Amber came to a halt when she could not feel her legs again ,her legs have become numb ,she sat on the floor and rested her back on a tree . Chris at full speed has already shifted into his wolf form using her scent to locate her ,Amber heard a sound immediately looked up and her eye was locked with the ocean blue eyes of the white wolf which re minded her of the first time they met ,in her very eyes the wolf changed to the handsome stranger that save her life ,she was not surprised to see such what surprised her is knowing that it was the same white wolf that saved her ,his not actually a stranger after all.Chris wasn't sure if she was scared or not so he walked very slowly so as not to scare her away like last time but to his surprise Amber rush and wrapped her little arms around Hus neck hugging him so tight ,Chris was so relieved to know that she was okay,then he gently dropped her to sit on the floor and sat beside her to comfort her ,learning what Sabrina did to her he apologized on her behalf ,he explained to her the relationship between him and Sabrina he also went further to explain what a mate bond is ,being a mate ,and marking by your mate , she learned that she was his fated mate ,and how being marked by your mate makes the mate bond stronger. When Amber heard of how the marking process is done she became shy her cheek flushed red ,of course this didn't go unnoticed by Chris which he finds cute,he told her he won't mark her if she's not yet ready this calm her nerves but the thought still lingered there.Chris told her about the retirement and how he wants to make her his Luna, Amber was still confused on how this werewolf stuffs works but she agrees because she don't have anywhere else to go to and the mate bond thingy has been taking effect on her .

A big camp fire was lit in the middle of the field right out the Alpha's house . The news of the alpha's retirement spread line wild fire as other packs alphas were invited since he is the leader of all other alphas more like the king of alphas so you dare not miss it . there was music ,merriments as the Omegas ( lowest in rank in a pack more like the slaves) dances around the fire . The alpha and his Luna emerge from the front door along side the beta Sabrina's father and Chris the soon to be alpha . Immediately the started howling to show respect to their alpha until he signalled them to quite down .The ritual stated with the alpha's farewell speech then the seerer perform some incantation he then drew the blood of all the alpha's present poured it in a bow gave it to the alpha to drink and pass it down to the next alpha to drink, after that the alpha deeped his right palm into the bow of blood and rub it on Chris's face as a peaceful pass down of authority ,then the alpha did his final alpha howl which they responded and the new alpha did his first alpha howl instantly his eyes lit up glowing bright red to show he has successfully received the authority of an alpha ,the other werewolves went on their knees in submission to the new alpha .
