“This is all f*****g disturbingly familiar,” muttered Kurt. He was the one in a base hospital this time, granted it was run by the Iraqi government, but it had been set up by the U.S. military and some American staff were still around. He’d torn a few stitches loose when he’d knocked Maggie out of the way of a sniper’s bullet. The clinic on the base also had a CT and had confirmed that he did have a hairline break in his femur. So here he was, not quite horizontal, banned from using crutches until he could get a full orthopedic assessment.
