Chapter 1: Queen Ruby
Ding dong, ding dong, the clock on the wall rang. At the same time, the anti-theft glass cabinet made a soft sound, slowly cracked, and fell to the ground to break.
A skillful hand carefully poked inside; Rose lifted the Ruby million-dollar crimson you in admiration. "It's really beautiful, it's worth it."
"I didn't see where it was worth it. Isn't it the same as any other ruby, just a little bigger?" A girl with personality came from behind; she was Clara, Rose's partner.
When Rose heard that, she smiled, threw the ruby into her breast pocket, and said. "It may not be worth it to us, but when it's sold out, it's precious." Rose didn't say the latter, not worth it because they never use the money to buy things like this. If Rose likes something, she can steal it all; it's her livelihood.
Clara attentively observed the treasures in the room; she asked, confused. "Is everything here worth that much?"
"Guess what? If brought to the auction house, the things here can buy a small city in our country." Rose was confident and arrogant as usual; she quickly left without looking back again.
Seeing that Clara was still dumbfounded, Rose reminded her. "Quickly get out of here before being discovered."
Rose left first, and Clara also quickly chased. As she ran to Rose's side, Clara wondered. "Why don't we get a few more valuables so we'll be rich."
"How should I explain it… it could be said to be professional ethics." Rose laughed heartily; although she was just a thief everyone hated, she also had her own rules. Rose's rule is not to touch things that are off-target.
Waiting for Rose and Clara to reach the front door, Clara pouted her lips in disdain. "They also confidently announced to the public how high security is, just a fly will be detected. Yet we go in and out without being detected."
Rose turned her head to look at the boring gallery; her lips curled slightly, she asked. "Do you like stimulation?"
Before Clara could figure it out, Rose banged her hand on the sensor wall in the hall. A few seconds later, the alarm went off. In less than a minute, countless people dressed in military uniforms and armed with guns rushed towards the exhibition hall.
They only worried about running towards the gallery to catch the intruder while the thief had leisurely left the building.
In just a few minutes, the peaceful, carefully guarded place like the gallery became the most chaotic place. Clara secretly admired Rose's talent somehow, they were trained at the same time, but she could never compare with Rose.
After getting into the black convertible, Clara looked curiously at Rose. "Can I see that ruby, please?"
Rose rested one hand on the door sill, the other lazily resting on the steering wheel. When she heard Clara's question, she didn't think twice and threw the bag at Clara. Then she heard Clara's excited voice. "It is true that nothing can make it difficult for you. As long as we have you in the organization, we won't have to worry about anything."
Rose stroked her hair which was flying freely in the wind. "Perhaps this is the last time." This is the last mission in Rose's life because just a few hours after she brings this ruby back to the organization, she will be returned to the free life she has always dreamed of.
"What did you say?" Because the wind was quite loud, Clara could not hear clearly.
"I said this is my last mission, after this, I will leave the organization," Rose said calmly, but it was hard to hide the excitement in her eyes.
Clara froze for a few seconds, then suddenly remembered something important and asked. "And what about Belinda? Are you going to leave her behind?"
Belinda has been Rose's best partner for more than ten years; everyone knows they are as close as sisters in the organization. If Rose was a planner and had a knack for infiltrating computer systems, disabling everything, she could be the brain. And Belinda is the one in charge of the manual work; although she is not as brilliant as Rose, she has powerful martial arts. They are considered a perfect match for the organization. However, a month ago, Belinda injured her leg during a mission. So Clara was tasked with following Rose to assist. Even though she still couldn't do anything to help Rose, everything was up to Rose r to do it herself.
"She will come with me, too." Rose smiled; the closer she got to the organization, the more she couldn't hide her expectation that in a little while, they would be free.
...
At the same time, in an old castle in Italy, a woman in a wheelchair was talking to a man on the sofa. Those were none other than the heads of the organization, Kyna and Roma. Kyna was the one who trained Rose to master the use of computers and jailbreak tricks, and Roma was the one who taught Belinda martial arts.
After receiving the news that Rose's mission was successful, Kyna smiled in satisfaction. "Indeed, I don't give her all my favor, Rose doesn't let me down."
Roma nodded, but one thing made him frown immediately. "Don't forget Kyna. Rose and Belinda are leaving the organization, and that ruby was the last thing she brought us back."
"Oh, if you hadn't told me, I'd have forgotten." Kyna meticulously cleaned the gun stretcher, her smile unchanged. "I have a way to make them unable to leave."
After saying that, the big door opened; Albert entered first after he was Belinda with a scared face. Belinda is the best martial artist after Roma. She is adamant and cold; it is rare to see Belinda scared of something like that.
Kyna saw Belinda's appearance and was very pleased; she waved her hand and called for Belinda to come closer; after she came forward, she squeezed her chin and said to Roma. "Did you forget we still have this chess? As long as we hold Belinda, I don't believe Rose will get away?"
