Bad Date Part 2

1139 Words
Lily’s POV I watched Caleb leave the restaurant and decided to follow him. This was my chance to find out what was really going on. I hoped he would open up to me earlier but that didn’t work out, instead he just brushed off my questions. I didn’t get what was so secretive that he couldn’t be open. I mean, what job did he actually have? I went to the bathroom and watched him leave from there so he wouldn’t be suspicious of me. As I saw him go, I quickly exited and started following him from afar down to where he parked his car. Thankfully he seemed to be going towards the main car park and not somewhere awkward. It would make it easier for when I got into my car and had to trail him. I watched as he started going down an alley way rather than the main path back. I knew it was a shortcut but the uneven ground made it really hard for me to walk in my heels. I ended up focusing more on where I was stepping rather than where he went. As I looked up, he was nowhere to be found. Ugh! This was just my luck, stupid heels! I stood there unsure of what to do now. I decided to run after Caleb but before I could move, I heard a growl from behind me. As I turned around, fear ran through me. There was a man standing in front of me and he looked like he wanted to kill me. I turned back around and started to run away from him. I was going to look behind me to see how far he was but before I could, I fell to the ground. Oh no, my heel snapped. He had caught up to me and was now towering over me as I was lying on the ground in front of me. “Please don’t hurt me.” I whimpered. I didn’t even know him. I wished I left the restaurant and went back home. I wanted to shout for Caleb but he was probably gone by now. The man just looked at me as he slowly brought his face closer. He was crouching down so our faces were level. “Please, take my money. Just leave me alone.” I almost cried when I got no response from him. That was weird, his eyes were black, there was no white to them. I inspected his face and noticed his features were different. His teeth were sharp, his eyes had no white to them and then I saw his hands. They had claws starting to protrude from them. What was he?! Before I could think of anything else, he grabbed a handful of my hair which caused me to scream. I started kicking and screaming in pain. “Let me go!” With all my might I pushed him back but he didn’t seem to move. To my surprise, he smiled at me instead. “Such a feisty one. I guess it makes sense. Humans wouldn’t be stupid enough to fight a demon like me.” My eyes snapped wide open. Did he just say demon?! “Who are you? What do you want? Just let go of me!” I screamed. I don’t know what this guy was on but I wanted to get as far away from him as possible. All I wanted was to be at home, it where I should have been of my damn curiosity didn’t get the better of me. “Shhh pretty one. You’re going to come with me nice and easy, okay? They’ll be so happy that I’ve found you after all this time. Now get up.” His voice sent chills down my spine. I could barely focus on his words, all I wanted was to get away from him. I had no idea where my sudden courage came from but I spoke up through my fear. “I’m not going anywhere with you. Now, LET ME GO!” I screamed as I pushed him back again. This appeared to catch him off guard as he stumbled back slightly and was now on the floor with me. I used this opportunity to try run away but before I could leave, he was in front of me. That didn’t make any sense, he was behind me just a second ago. I noticed anger on his face as he reached his hand out and slapped me across the face. I cried in pain as the force shot me back to the ground. Tears started to form in my eyes as I realised there was no escape. “I told you that we could do this the easy way. Obviously you would rather do it the hard way. I don’t mind, at least we can have a bit of fun.” A sinister smile formed as he spoke those words down on me. I couldn’t speak, all I could do is cry as my fear grew inside me. The man was getting closer towards me. He was a step in front of me before our attention was taking away. “Get away from her!” A voice boomed through the alley. I recognised that voice, but it couldn’t be. I looked through the light that filled up the dark night and noticed my thoughts were true. It was Mike! Although there was something different. Did he have wings? At this point I was sure my drink must have been spiked, there was no way my eyes weren’t playing tricks on me. The man laughed as he turned his attention towards Mike. “This is none of your concern angel. You can kill me but she won’t be safe. We know all about her now, it’s too late.” His words made me confused and scared. What did they know about me? Why wasn’t I safe? “You won’t harm her demon” Mike seethed. Before the man could reply, Mike stepped towards him and pulled his heart out. The horrific sight in front of me made me want to throw up. There was blood all over Mikes hand. I silently watched as the mans lifeless body in front of me turned to dust. “Lily, are you okay?” I saw Mike run up to me through my blurred vision. My head felt heavy as I heard him repeat himself. “Lily?” He called out. The concern in his voice grew as his arms came around me to pick me up from the ground. I let my head rest against his chest as he took me to safety. It took all of my might to try reply back to him. “Mike-“ I murmured before I passed out and darkness overtook everything.
