Chapter Thirty-SixJack quickly moved in front of Kiera, unsure exactly what he was expecting to happen but finding himself momentarily surprised when the woman didn’t immediately spring forwards and charge at them. Instead, she sat exactly as she was, unmoving, but a smile slowly spreading across her lips. Shakily, she raised her hand and rubbed at her wrist where the chains had been.
