Chapter Thirty-FiveJack reached out into the darkness, taking a few tentative steps forwards, but there was nothing and he found it impossible to tell just how large the space around them was. “We need light,” Kiera whispered. He was about to make a sarcastic comment about stating the obvious when he heard her muttering an incantation and then grunting, as though she was trying to use energy she didn’t have. A light appeared in the corner of his eye and when he turned, he saw that it was sitting in Kiera’s palm; a tiny ball of flame that slowly expanded until he could see Kiera’s face in its glow.
