Chapter Thirty-FourKiera could barely hear the sound of the water over her own noisy breathing. It took all her energy just to keep her head from going under. All around her was nothing, just a stifling darkness which meant she couldn’t differentiate the wall from water. She would’ve liked to use her magic to help them but couldn’t think of any spells that she could perform whilst swimming at the same time. She attempted to produce some light but it quickly fizzled out in the water. Every so often, she reached out and touched Jack for reassurance; reassurance that he was still there and that the tunnel would eventually come to an end and that she just needed to keep going.
