The Season of Camellias

Assuming my readers already know what the concept of omegaverse is, I'm going straight to other A/B/O dynamics that are present in this story: Ø Imprinting. A natural phenomenon common among Omegas as young as seven years old. An Omega gets emotionally and physically attached to an individual – most often an Alpha – whom they see fit as a future pair-bond / mate. An Omega will be protective and affectionate, and will desire physical contact with said individual. Ø Slick. Bodily secretion produced by an Omega in heat. A semi-translucent fluid, often with a sweet taste and smell. The fluid also serves as self-lubrication. Ø Rut. An Alpha's version of an estrus/heat. In this story, a Rut can only take place when there is an unmarked or unbound Omega in heat, during which the Alpha will seek out this particular Omega to Catch. Ø Bonding. A special type of mating that only happens between an Alpha and an Omega. During Bonding, the Alpha marks an Omega as their mate/pair-bond, often by knotting. This can be done more than once with an Omega. Ø Marking. The Alpha bites an Omega at the juncture between their neck and shoulder. In this story, Marking is more permanent than Bonding. It's equivalent to marriage, where mates mix their scents together. It is an Alpha's instinctive way to show and protect their possession, and to ward off other Alphas from taking their mate. Although uncommon, some Alphas Remark their Omega after the previous one, thus sealing their bond another time. A Remark bite can sometimes be more painful than the first but is nevertheless pleasurable for both the Alpha and Omega. Ø Catching. A term used for an Alpha impregnating an Omega. The process of being knotted and when the Alpha releases their semen into an Omega. Ø Nesting. An activity that majority of Omegas do in order to feel comfortable. Omegas seek out "nests" – personal spaces – around their home, usually when they are pregnant. Nests can have a calming effect and help relieve stress. These are often filled with soft things, or the clothes and blankets with their mate's scent on it. However, Omegas tend to do this subconsciously, oftentimes not even realizing that they are already Nesting until someone points it out. And as they get closer to their due date, the Omega will want to spend more time in their nest, with their mate. Ø Heat Suppressants. Pills or injectables used by Omegas to suppress or reduce a heat. However, such medication must NOT be taken during an Omega's first heat. Taking a Heat Suppressant can greatly disrupt an Omega's reproductive development and cause severe chemical imbalance in their body. Ø Rut Suppressants. Pills or injectables used by Alphas to suppress or stop a rut, making them less aggressive. Just like in an Omega's first heat, Rut Suppressants must NOT be given during an Alpha's first rut, as it may have no effect or may exacerbate aggression. Ø Scent Blockers. Spray or aerosol that masks an individual's scent, either by giving them no scent or creating an entirely different scent.
