|Damien|
I could understand her pain of not wanting to see me or anybody. I brought her to the pack and locked her up, caught her when she escaped and brought her again, only to be thrown into the dungeon.
Anger cruised through my vein when Niamh informed me of her situation. Ever since I saw my mother welcome me, Lupus’ reaction already hinted me that something was wrong.
Earlier this year, she had increased her pressure of me picking a mate but I wasn’t ready. No one knew that I already had a mate. I had known Aria to be my mate ever since the first night I knew her.
She had escaped into the thin air but after a deep search, I finally found her in the bookstore where she was hiding. She had lost a lot of her abilities due to the fact that she lived outside her pack for too long.
She had also suppressed her wolf to the point where they no longer communicate. However, her wolf was different from her entirely. Lyra was gentle and always coolheaded. The few times she had communicated with Lupus proved that they understood themselves better than us.
“You shouldn’t have done that. She’s my guest and not yours,”
I didn’t hesitate to lecture her as soon as she came into my room. Her eyes didn’t blink even with my anger. She just sat there waiting for me to be done with my rant.
“So she’s the reason why you rejected all suitable mates? Just bring that smelly rogue in?” her voice was merciless and filled with disdain.
It was so obvious that my choice was unacceptable. Not that I cared though but nobody has the right to treat my mate like a prisoner.
“She’s my mate!” I snarled
“A rogue!” she corrected, her voice hardening
Her hand connected with the table, flaunting her newly polished nails. “Damien, you do know that I get all wishes right?”
“Not this time,”
Her chest tightened, I saw it. However, it was the truth. I have always honored her wishes, you could say I am the obedient child but this around, no one can play the game with me. I have the final say when it comes to my little rogue.

That night, I went to her room to check up on her after several days of her not talking to people or eating properly. Everything in me wanted to break the door down but after a rethink, I decided to give her more time to sort out her thought.
“You need to approve the petitions,” Niamh nagged slightly and I turned to take my leave.
Since I wanted to be alone, I dismissed everyone and worked on the petitions alone till midnight when I stood up to take a stroll before going to sleep.
Suddenly, I caught a whim of her scent but it was so faint that I thought it was a delusion. However, the more I walked towards the garden, the stronger it became.
“What’s she doin—”
My chest collided with her in full force. The sudden bump made her bounce back, almost falling to the ground but I reached out to hold her waist.
Before I could ask anything, three rough looking rogues appeared at her back. They were caught off-guard by my presence, it was unexpected.
“To who do we owe this honor?” my claws sprouted alongside my question
Of course, they’d want to show their stubbornness. That’s why they are rogues. Charging at me was their response but they seemed to have forgotten that I am an alpha.
Their skins were off their bodies in no time. Lupus wasn’t gentle with them. His growl rose up in the sky as he delivered deadly blows on their vital points and speared his bare hands through their chest, ripping their hearts out mercilessly.
I could sense her fear. I had gone extremely wilder than she could ever picture. My claws were dripping with their blood as their lifeless bodies dropped down my feet.
“Oh… oh my..” her breath hitched, leaving her gasping for breath as she turned to run away
She couldn’t go far before she collapsed on the floor of the garden. Her frail body was lying unconscious as I rushed towards her. The soldiers in the compound had already caught the whim of their presence and rushed over to the garden.
“Keep the one alive till morning, I need to make them realize that they had gone too far by stepping here,”
Having given my command, I picked her up in the bridal style and marched to my room. Niamh was still waiting for me at the door and immediately she saw me, her legs rushed to cover the distance.
“She just needs to rest, a little shock happened” I gave a small smile
Her glance at my hand and then back to my face was enough to tell me that she didn’t buy the word but she nodded slightly.
“I will ask her maid to come carry her to the room,” she started walking away but I stopped her
“She will be sleeping in my bed tonight.”
Her brows arched in a protest. “but…”
“It was never an opinion. Goodnight, Niamh”
That was all I needed her to know. When it comes to my little rogue, no one has a say. I do what I want as I deem fit.
Her body curled up in fear as they touched the sheet. The pain, fear, and hurt were written all over her.
Just how many trouble has she faced in life at such a little age to get her damaged like this? Well, I caused the greatest pain so who was I to talk?
