“Morning, lovebirds, I hope you two are ready for some battle.” Kasstin came out, looking energized as I am. I guess she had a proper rest as well. I am just quite worried about Scarlet. She can’t go on the day like this.
“Scarlet, why don’t you just rest until I finish preparing our meals. Or you could sleep in for few more hours. We’ll take care of everything for now. You need a proper rest before you go about our quest.” I told her.
“You stayed up worrying, didn’t you?” Kasstin butted in.
“Well, I actually tried to stop worrying but it kept bothering me. But I think I can do this. After breakfast, I might have some energy.” she persisted.
“Oh no, princess. We all insist for you to rest. Take it from your wise, old man.” Varan chimed in.
“Alright, I’ll just take a nap for few minutes and that’s it.” she emphasized. She then went back to her room.
I finished making breakfast and invited the two to eat.
“Aren’t you going to join us?” Kasstin asked.
“I’ll wait for Scarlet, so she’d have some company later.” I told them and they both smirked at me.
“Oh come on, she’s tired! The nap she’s talking about will probably last for hours. You need to eat now. So we can start finding clues while she rest.” Kasstin told me.
“Yes, and you’ll need more energy so you could take care of her, alright?” Varan added. I agreed and started to eat.
“Alright, so we’ll try to explore the pieces of papers again, in case we find something useful. When Scarlet wakes up and eats her meal, we’ll go back to Aeredale.” Varan suggested.
“I hope we can get something out of the elves, even just a little.” Kasstin remarked.

SCARLET’S POV
I woke up feeling slightly recharged after few hours of nap. But my mind seems on the run still.
“Oh good, you’re up. You should eat so we could go back to Aeredale.” Kasstin greeted. I went to the table to eat a meal that is prepared just for me, I’m guessing by Finley. I sat there quietly with my head on the clouds when Finley suddenly asked, “Scar, are you alright? Were you not able to get some sleep at all? You seem bothered.” He must have noticed. Is he observing me or something?
“Oh, sorry, don’t mind me at all. I…I just can’t get rid of the anxiety that’s been building up inside me. You see, last night. I had bad dreams about Demetrius and when I woke up from that nightmare, everything just came flashing back in my mind. That explains one of the major reasons I couldn’t sleep last night.”
“I’m sorry, Scarlet. I should have been there with you, I mean to comfort you.” Finley proposed.
“Don’t worry, Finley. You needed your rest anyways. We can’t afford to be tired today and I can handle myself just fine.” I said to him. The thought of him by my side, with just the two of us is actually nice but it’s just wrong timing if it was to be last night.
After some time, Varan came in from the outside asking us if we were ready to go. We all are prepared and now, we’re headed to Aeredale once again. We are all determined to do this big quest for the sake of the kingdom.

“Will an elf let us in?” Kasstin asked us as we walked.
“We’ll have to make a good impression, I guess. We need to show them that we are on their side and not the villains in this story.” I said.
“Don’t worry, they are familiar with me, so I think some might be willing to spare us some information.” Varan hopefully mentioned.
We arrived at the same spot we were yesterday. Strangely, the bodies were cleaned up and the fresh blood seem to be washed away as well. The soldiers might have survived and told us off to the king which will put more risk to our mission. Suddenly, we were alarmed upon a strange noise, sneaking up on us somewhere. Kasstin has her bow ready and we’re all are ready to pounce on whatever it is that is provoking our presence. It is quite foggy today which adds up to the atmosphere of the village. As the fogs slowly drifts away, it revealed what seem to be fifty or so assassins standing quietly around us, putting us in the middle of them all. They are wearing the same outfits like that of the ones yesterday. We took a tight grip of our weapons to ready for a bloody fight that is about to happen. They sure outnumbered us but together, I know we can bring all them down. I have a saber as my weapon; the one that Varan gave to me. It is pretty sharp so this will surely be useful. I am planning to pair it up some magic so it could handle any number that would come my way. All of us started with the fight and these soldiers, sure knows their way in the battlefield. They are stronger than we thought and more of them is coming out. We are all managing to fight the ones at range but there are just so many of them compared to us. My magic isn’t even working on them. There must be a protection spell of some sort casted on them. We’re all getting intimidated by the second, even Kasstin. The soldiers then took advantage and gang up on us, cornering us in every way. We all held hands together in case this will be the last for us when——
