Scarlet's POV
"Oh no, no, no Tucky! I told you not to put that in there!" I exclaimed as I try to stop my most trusted confidante, Tucky, from blowing up the potion on his face but I was too late.
*BOOM!* a small explosion unleashed from the bottle of potion that I was trying to make. It blasted entirely on Tucky's face. As he turned towards me, I can't help but burst into laughter. His stunned face was fully blotched with black tarnish from the magic potion that I was just about to finish mixing. He's not even blinking and his long, curly brown hair stood up, pointing up like his long ears. He only stood at 3'4" which made the blasted potion cover him from head to toe.
"Ohohohohoho! That was great! Again!!" he suddenly said with optimism which surprised me.
"Oh come on, you're wasting the elements for my enchantment and aren't you even hurt from the impact it left you?" I said with little laughs in between, fascinated by him.
"It actually felt great on my skin, mi lady. It was so fun and I get to recount the tale to my comrades later. I mixed up the ingredients you told me and it unexpectedly entranced me instead!" he blithely uttered.
"Oh Tucky," I chuckled, "you and your intriguing stories."
"Oh I'd burst like that potion if I were to never utter a story for the entirety of the day! It keeps me going, princess and I love that you are just so willing to listen to my endless tales!" he said cheerfully to me.
"Of course, Tucky, you're the only one who's left in my family and I would do anything to make you happy despite the situation that we are in." I said to him with a beaming, reassuring smile.
"If only they could still live up to this tale we're creating day by day." His brightest smiles swiftly transitioned into cold, agonizing frowns as he was reminded of his family.
FLASHBACK
*A year ago...*
"Papa!!" Tucky's only son, Tait screamed as a Creagan soldier was about to pierce his mighty spear on Tucky's back. Tucky was combating a soldier in front of him so his son's hollers were not immediately acknowledged but his wife shouted with his son loudly the second time which made him turn his back and as soon as he spiraled, he dropped down on his knees. Scarlet rushed near Tait so she could thrust her sword in the soldier's heart, making the Creagan soldier drop dead. But the move was too late as soon as they saw the spear pierced right through Tait's heart.
Scarlet, devastated as she is continued fighting the remaining soldiers while Tucky fell into rock bottom. He couldn't pick up his sword anymore as his only son, the son they tried to conceive for forever gone in a blink of an eye. As he rivet into the hypnotic cosmos of grief, he didn't notice his wife cornered helpless on the other side of the room, trying to shout for help but one of the soldiers shut her mouth with his hands, leaving her voiceless. Scarlet had too many to fight so she wasn't able to immediately detect the heightened threat to the life of Tucky's wife until she glanced up on the corner after defeating the soldiers at her range. She tried to conjure up a quick, strong spell to knock the soldiers cornering Tucky's wife but it was another time too late as soon as Tucky's wife fell together with the soldiers, not because of Scarlet's spell but the fact that they already choked and stabbed her to death when Scarlet wasn't looking.
As soon as the coast was clear, having those soldiers' deaths be the last of it all, Tucky and Scarlet were both on their knees, deeply drowned into the sea of grief and anguish. There are no words that could be uttered but a silence of deep torment that they would be carrying for the rest of their existence.
END OF FLASHBACK

"I know, Tucky. There's never a day where I didn't long for our fates to turn back around. We lost the important people in our lives and many other innocent lives of our people were taken just like that. They're just so ruthless and so prejudiced, just craving for wealth and power, not caring for the world around them dying!" I stated with rage.
"They're heartless people!!" Tucky angrily declared.
"I swear to all gods that Demetrius and his kingdom will rot with their own blood splattered all on their body! I already promised to you before, and I will never stray away from my word. We'll have our revenge, Tucky, we'll have our revenge. I will make sure of that."
"I trust that you will, princess and I will be with you all the way!" Tucky said with conviction.
"Thank you Tucky, thank you for never leaving me after all this time. You've aways been like a father to me and you deserve a great life and I will not stop until you can have that. I, Scarlet Blaire Avery, pledge with all my life, to take back my people. I will make sure that the kingdom of Avery will no longer suffer from the cruel hands of the Creagan Empire!" I declared trying not to lose grip of my anger that I have long repressed for the entire year. We rarely bring up that incident that crushed our lives and now that we did, I can't help but just let my blood boil over that sickening Demetrius of the Creagan Empire. I hope karma gets back at him real hard and I know that I got karma's back for I might be the way to paved the karma's way towards him.

"Are you sure we can really trust her, princess?" Tucky asked doubting.
"Yes, Tucky. I have learned to always carefully choose who to trust and besides I've known her for very long now, she's a family to me. She has even helped us in the past and I can't see any reason for her to betray us now."
"You know how trusting too much does to people, they might gain your trust long enough so they could do their horrid plan after."
