Chapter 2 - The Elders

Ingrid pov:

Rain has been in her room for 2 days now and Elijah is losing it, even while he tries to hide it well.

With Jackson's death and Rain almost dying, he went crazy at first.

"I can't wait any longer. I have to go in there " Elijah snapped trying to leave the room and Kendra stopped him "Elijah stop it"

"What do you think you are doing. Give her some time please" she pleaded with him

Elijah looked back at her angrily before he agreed. "I don't know Kendra. I don't know what she is thinking, maybe I shouldn’t have left when she told me to" he sat down

I went forward and sat beside him "You did the right thing. And you've waited for 19years, waiting few more hours or days shouldn't hurt please" I told him

Ben, Kendra, Elijah and I are in Kellan's Home office. We didn't have time to move her to Elijah's so we stayed here.

"I can't wait to meet her" Kendra said happily while they haven’t met yet.

The front door opened and Rain walked in leaving everyone surprised .

Rain pov;

I walked in to 5 people in the room. 4 I met before and a new face.

Female,

Ginger hair, like mine

Our eyes are same. Is she my mother?

We stared hard at each other, I could sense her love if that makes sense. Her eyes ar….

“Rain come in” Elijah said interrupting my thoughts

They all stood up looking at me surprised or shocked but also happy which I find awkward. I walked further in and the woman I haven't met came to hug me tightly immediately.

She pulled back and cupped my face "You look so beautiful" she said smiling with tears "You have grown so. You look really beautiful" she said again

I stared at her confused and not understanding what is going on. She sensed my confusion and she smiled again "I'm Kendra a--" "He mentioned you" I told her staring at her. I want to ask if she is my mom

She smiled hugging me again "really he did?"

Elijah thankfully came to my rescue and pulled her away from me "Please come and have a seat" he gestured to a sofa and I followed .

I sat and they did the same opposite facing me.

My attention went back to Kendra. Dad said she was also family. We have similar hair and same eyes, I might look like Elijah but we look similar too . I looked at everyone again.

Elijah decided to speak "I know you must have lots of questions b--" "Yes I do have questions. And lots of them like you said" I snapped

"Dad-" Elijah looked at me as I said that "Dad didn’t explain much, seeing he didn’t have the time to. I understand few things that might be going on also” I paused looking at them again

"But i'll like to know the truth. Now let's start with; who is trying to take me or hurt me rather and why? "

I stared at them waiting for someone to answer me . Ingrid nodded "I guess I should explain that" she smiled

"I'm sure you know of the Valara now since you're here" "wait ' they looked at me' this is our world?" I asked confused . I thought we were still in the human world.

They smiled "Yes this is Valara" Ben answered . Oh my God I didn't even notice.

Ingrid continued "Rain, here we have different Species. We have The Vampires, The Wolves, Witches and Warlocks, The guardians and finally non-magical people, well those are people without magic. They aren't vampires, wolves, witches, or even guardians. They are more like humans but the only difference is that they live in our world and know about us.

Well you should be familiar with vampires, wolves and witches if i'm right?" she asked and I nodded quickly wanting to hear the rest

She continued "the guardians are people blessed with special Gift. They are fighters trained for protection, very skilled, also have the ability to heal fast. Not as fast as a vampire or wolf would but they do. The case of healing also depends on how strong the person might be. " she stopped looking at me if I understood and I nodded .

"Now the most important, Alphas.

Alphas are very rare people. Some call them 'The chosen'. They are different from everyone. They aren't vampires, wolves, witches or even guardians. They are born with different rare powers." she finished

I looked at her "How different would these powers be, shouldn't they be witches or warlocks" I asked them confused

Kellan spoke this time "Well they aren't witches. We have types of witches and warlocks;

The Divination witches, they get pieces of future events.

Portal witches, gift of travels

The elemental witches, they are with one of the four elements, water fire air and earth .

And The healers” Kellan finished explaining. This is so intense and crazy but also real.

"So the Alphas? " I asked

Ben answered this time "Alphas are different, we can't consider them as witches. Each individual have different powers of their own" he smiled looking at Kendra as she smiled back at him

He continued "Kendra and I are Alphas”

I asked surprised "both of you are Alphas? "

"Yes we are" Kendra answered

"So what are your powers " I asked them

"Well let me show you mine" Kendra spoke. She held out her hand and a light blue spark came out. I looked at her scared "you can electrocute someone?"

She laughed "Yes darling, with just one touch. Even vampires or wolves are no match for this baby" she laughed looking towards Elijah, kellan and ingrid. Okay I don't understand that look.

“I can also Hide memories or enhance them" she said softly looking at me sad and I stared back

Ben interrupted "Well guess it's my turn. I have all four elements. Water, earth, fire and air" he said like it wasn't special

"Oh my God. Like avatar" I said chuckled

They looked at me confused "avatar?"

"Oh forget I said that. But shouldn't he be an elemental witch" I asked pretty confused at this point

Elijah smiled answering "elemental witches can only have one element each and not even two. But Ben, he has all four" he explained and I finally understood so I nodded

"So how does this have anything with someone trying to kill me" I asked

"Thousands of Years ago, the first Alphas existed in our world. Four every 50 years after them. Couple Centuries back, one of the new alpha’s, the very first hybrid. A rare discovery that has never happened before, his name is Michael" Kellan said

"you are saying 'is' that means he still lives?" I asked

"Yes he does" Ingrid answered

"Michael is a Vampire, and An Alpha. He wants so much power that he kills every Alpha he can get his hands on, including the elders" Kendra spoke up

"Elders?" I asked

"Elders are the oldest people of each race governing their kind with the aim of maintaining peace between our races" Ingrid smiled

"So where are these Elders" I asked curious

They all smiled.

Ben spoke "We are"
