A brilliant young medical doctor is preparing to marry her college sweetheart, a world-famous athlete and captain of one of the country's biggest sports teams. On the morning of their lavish wedding, while she's getting ready in the bridal lounge, an unexpected visitor arrives, her former college classmate and her fiancé's ex-girlfriend, visibly pregnant. The ex doesn't come seeking sympathy, she comes to gloat. She proudly reveals that she's carrying the groom's child and claims that after the wedding, he intends to keep both women, promising that she and the baby will live with them. Confident that the bride's fiery temper will ruin the wedding, she expects tears, outrage, and humiliation. The groom is called into the bridal lounge and, instead of denying the affair, admits it and offers a weak apology. He then arrogantly tells his fiancée that she has no choice but to go through with the wedding because her family would never allow her to cancel a marriage that brings them wealth, influence, and status. Certain that she would never leave him, he remains completely unfazed. To everyone's shock, she quietly walks out of the bridal lounge in her wedding dress, telling the pregnant ex that she is free to have the wedding and the man. She leaves the venue before the ceremony ever begins, abandoning both the groom and the wedding itself, while her families, guests, and the media are left in complete chaos.Determined to rebuild her life, she buries herself in her work as a doctor at New Leeds Hospital, completely unaware that the hospital is secretly owned by another internationally celebrated athlete, the captain of her ex-fiancé's biggest rival team. Although the world knows him only as a legendary athlete, almost no one knows he is the mysterious owner of the country's largest hospital. Their paths are destined to collide in a world where medicine, sports, rivalry, scandal, and buried secrets intertwine, while the man who believed she would never walk away is forced to watch the woman he underestimated become connected to the one rival he despises most.

CHAPTER 1
The pregnant ex Melinda Pov I already got up before my alarm chimed. Guess I’m too anxious for my own wedding..or maybe nervous. I slipped out of my night robe and put on a flowy gown that clark had gotten for me last week…. Ugh…my wedding is finally here after 3 years. I prepared to leave the lounge but my phone’s beep stopped me… Oh sweet lord, I forgot to take my phone, I picked it up from the night stand while heading downstairs. Before I could check the message my phone rang. Ouu..my baby is calling, my insides filled with joy. “my love, just letting you know I can’t wait for you to be my wife baby” clark chuckled “Me too boo, are your teammates coming over early?” I needed to know so I could make sure they’re received well by us. Although Clark and his family were the one who arranged the lounge venue and preparation, the least we could do is welcome them warmly. “Yes my love, I’ll go pick them up, I would love to come to your room before going baby” he sounded like he was pouting … cute “Oh no babe, it’s mandatory you don’t see the bride before the wedding “ I laughed . The call ended and I headed straight to the venue. I had to make sure things are running smoothly. The moment i entered the hall, I was in awe. Oh my God! It’s so beautiful simple and classy, the lavender scent coming from the flowers lined up, and the beautiful white petals appealed to me, I saw the event planner walking towards the front of the hall, I immediately called her when I didn’t see the wedding cake. “What’s going on? Why’s the cake not here yet?” “I called the baker she said it’ll be here I… ohhh, there she is, I think she arrived” she pointed to the door. I looked back seeing the so called baker and some guys carrying the huge cake forward. I smiled but it stopped halfway. “I had specifically said the cake should be covered in lilac color, why is it blue?” I asked the planner. “Mr Clark said blue would fit better” she said. I waved her off dismissing the topic, I won’t let color ruin my wedding day. I better leave before the guest saw me. Some were already coming in. I was about heading back through the back door when I caught the sight of Venice and her other friends entering the hall. Why is she here? All of them are Winifred’s friend… don’t ask me who Winifred is. Clark’s ex! My heart jumped a little, does that mean Winifred will come? I shook that thought away and left for my lounge to prepare for my big day. The thought still lingered in my mind when I got to my door. Pushing the door opened I met my family sitting, patiently or rather impatiently waiting for me. Ughhh.. not this morning pleaseee. Not ready for their pep talk. “where have you been since morning, and you didn’t pick up your phone” my dad said standing up to hug me. Pfft! What money can not do does not exist. I closed the door and received the hug, “ I had to check how things were going at the venue” I said dropping on the sofa close to my sister. “You could have told your mother so you don’t have to stress yourself, if his family sees you stressed won’t that put us in a bad spot?” he scolded. “its what your mother could have handled” he continued. “ sorry” I mutter. “My darling, your makeup artist are on their way, be of good behavior” my mum patted my head. I shook my head. “don’t make us loose face Melinda, this wedding must go through no matter what” my father said somewhat sounding like a threat. Few minutes later my best friend who is a nurse at the hospital I work at arrived with the makeup artist. “How did you meet th..” was saying and she cut me off. “ah, I was on my way upstairs when I saw them asking for directions, so I brought them along” she said with an eye roll “Dramatic Anna” I joked. I immediately sat on the chair so I could get started with the whole thing, the wedding hour would be here soon. “The wedding is finally happening I’m so happy for youuuu” Anna said for the fifth time . I laughed, I was about saying something when a knock landed on the door. Who could it be? I wondered while picking up my wedding dress. Anna went to get the door , I turned to look at who it was. Good lord No!! What the hell is Winfred doing here. I don’t know what happened that made my eye drop to her stomach, there was lying a protruding baby bump. My eyes went wide with shock..
