"Aahan Choudhry? Who is this?" Abhay roared, making Aahan flinch for a moment. He looked at the source of the roar, there came Abhay Basu, blazing fire from his eyes. The way he was asking, as if he knew nothing about Aahan. Liar. Aahan murmured.
It had been one month to Aahan joining in the office and three weeks to his last encounter with Abhay in Ishita's cabin. From that day, he never crossed path with Abhay, and today he was calling his name... or should he say shouting like this in front of the whole office was not giving him good vibes. Whom he was kidding, everytime the far sight of that man for one second was enough to fill the whole atmosphere with bad vibes.
"Aahan Choudhry. I asked who the hell is this person?" Abhay again roared, breaking Aahan's trance.
"Yes, Mr. Basu." He took a step forward from his cube. All the employees were looking at both of them in anticipation in the wait of some drama to happen.
Mr. Basu scanned him from head to toe, before a cunning smile broke into his lips. "Come on. Let's leave. We have an important discussion left." He put his hand around Aahan's shoulder, who had a confused look plastered on his face. No, something was wrong. Because the man in front of him was a sadist. He couldn't be happy over something right. Something definitely was wrong... very very wrong.
Like a friend, Abhay smiled at Aahan, who felt the hidden evilness in them. No... No... Looks were decieving. The one smiling at you was not always a friend.
And the next moment, proving Aahan's inner thoughts right, Abhay showed his true colours. In a second the smile from his face replaced and her eyes carried the rage of revenge. He dragged Aahan to a meeting room in a harsh manner, leaving so many people behind in shock. Some surprising gasps were heard along with few whispering and murmuring continued. Some were unable to digest the shock, while the gossiping queens have started their round of gossiping. People sometimes crossed the limit of insensitivity!
Soon, Abhay and Aahan was out of the sight. But the office place was still chaotic.
A few minutes passed.
Ishita came out of her cabin, carrying a restless face. This was very rare. She never left her cabin, if something very urgent didn't line up on her way.
But today was different. Or maybe she was feeling different. Yeah, she had no idea about the reasons of such sudden restlessness inside her. One hell of a confused soul she was!
To calm herself, she needed fresh air to breath and in need of fresh air, she came out of her cabin, only to found a tensed atmosphere outside. People were scattering over the place like bees around honey.
Must be a new gossip! What else could be honey for these interfering humans!
Ishita Verma hated gossips. She particularly hated when people interrupted other person's privacy. Being an introvert, she didn't accept people to eavesdrop and then gossip about another person, without their permission.
Her eyes simply travelled towards the section where her team members were present. But it didn't get the sight of the person, whom she had desired for.
"Where did this Aahan go? Is he also involved in this office politics. I agree he is an extrovert, but this is too much." She muttered to herself. "Leave it. He can do whatever he wants. Not her problem though."
She flipped her hair in annoyance. She had no idea why she was expecting Aahan to be different. He was also a normal human. He had emotions and he knew how to show it unlike her. Maybe she was the only abnormal here. But for some reason, she wanted him to be different. She wanted him to be good, who will support the right instead of gossiping about some one behind their back.
However she had no intrest over him and what he gossip with other employees. In a month only he had become the popular employee here, with his charming ways. Let him enjoy his popularity.
She was about to move outside, when one of her team mates named Meghna ran towards her. Ishita stopped right there, seeing Meghna's tensed face.
Meghna was also in her team, a new employee like Aahan. Ishita liked her attitude and dedication for work too. Moreover she was honest unlike others, who were ready to lick your feet for a mere promotion.
"Mam." Meghna huffed reaching near her. "They took Aahan to the conference room."
Ishita looked at her in confusion. It had been a month and she had found a best friend in Aahan. But it was not only she, but the whole office had become fond of him. His childishness had made the old ladies charmed and chivalry stole the heart of young ones. He was a man to be loved. Apart from completing his work as a trainee, Aahan joined others to help them too. Sometimes as a receptionist and sometimes as a peon, he managed to help everyone and won so many hearts in a short span of time. So his presence in conference room was not at all unexpected for Ishita. Maybe he went there as a peon, because the peon, whole he had made his uncle was not feeling well. Or maybe he switched over to another trainee's work of submitting the papers in the conference room. He was a noble soul and Ishita had no doubt over it.
Then Meghna maintained her breath and said, "Mr. Basu almost dragged Aahan forcefully for some talk. We suspect sone serious issue to be going on."
Ishita's patience end there. All the need for fresh air evaded as the thought of Aahan suffering clenched her heart. She marched towards the conference room. All the while she recalled the look Mr. Basu was giving Aahan, whenever they came to face each other. While Aahan being the friendliest, didn't even notice him screaming danger.
Mr. Basu was a bad news.
Aahan was in danger.
She had to save him.
These were the thoughts running over her mind, but the reason for certain changes in her was out of her thinking capabilities. She never got too much involved in other office politics earlier. Then why now?
Well, that was not the time for her to evaluate the reasons of these new feelings.
When Ishita barged inside the conference room, she found a familiar face sitting on the head chair. It was Mr. Rudra Verma, her father. She clenched her fist when her eyes landed on Abhay Basu, who was holding Aahan's collar.
She scanned the room and so many familiar faces came in front of her. Her father, her step brother Ayush, and Ayush's maternal cousin Aditi, everyone were sitting on the head chair, looking at the scene unfolding in front of them.
"So from now on, You are fired, Mr. Aahan Choudhry.", shouted Mr. Basu pushing Aahan in a force.
Aahan stumbled on his steps and left the room. He was too shocked to defend himself.
While his lost face and broken look didn't go unnoticed by Ishita. She saw the cut near his lips too. And anger piled up inside her.
"May I know what's happening here?" She roared, surprising every single soul present in that room.
Only Abhay had no idea about her identity. Otherwise Aditi, Ayush, Rudra Verma's personal assistant were well aware of Ishita being the elder child of Rudra Verma. But no body expected her to ask questions ever with such an authority. This has happened never.
"No, You can't." Mr. Abhay Basu clearly stated, while gritting his teeth. Here management head, in fact the owner himself is present and the decision is taken. Aahan is fired. You just can't charge over here."
"Oh really, Try me then." Ishita took another step and her aura scared Abhay. This timid girl was different!
While the other persons kept looking at both Ishita and Abhay arguing with different thoughts. Mr. Roy, Rudra's personal assistant was glaring Abhay for talking with the next heir with such a tone.
While Rudra Verma himself was amused to witness this side of his daughter, who was always lost in her own world. He was happy to see the authority her eyes held. He had dreamt of her handling his hard earned business, but she never paid interest. So he had to emotionally blackmail her into the business and for that reason, she hated him till now. But he was ready to bear her hate, if that makes his little girl's life a little easier. But today, it was different. He witnessed a different glint in her eyes. Why she looked so troubled.
"Excuse me, Miss Ishita. You can't talk to me like that. Height of unprofessionallism. Can't you see that the higher officials are here and the decision is taken. Aahan Choudhry is fired." Mr. Basu said, feeling satisfied with each words that came out of his mouth.
"I don't care. No superiority gives you the authority to fire Aahan without informing me." Ishita replied, with fury in her eyes.
"Wow! Just wow! And are you his guardian? We should inform to you about your kid's mischief before taking any decision against him?" Mr. Basu mocked.
"In your limit, Mr." Ayush Verma roared.
The seventeen year lad was quiet attached to his step-sister, though she didn't acknowledge his presence. But, he couldn't just let any other man make fun of his elder sister.
But the protective brother was stopped, when Ishita showed her palm to him, "I can defend myself, Mr. Verma. Stay out of this." For Mr. Basu, it was arrogance, but Ayush immediately backed out as it was his elder sister who ordered. And her words deserved respect. "Now, Mr. Basu. I might not be his guardian, but I am his team lead. I hope you know the basics that you can't just fire any of the my members, without letting me know about it through a prior notice. I can sue you for that in front of the management." Ishita lashed out.
The situation was going out of control. Mr. Basu was tongue tied. And at that moment Rudra Verma interrupted the heated argument. "Ishita!" He called so softly that, Mr. Basu looked confused. While Ishita glared at him, but he cared less. "You can't sue us for that. Yeah, I am aware of the rules of the management, but the crime was severe. So they will allow for the immediate action taken." He ended his part.
"Alright then. You are justifying this. Then do justify in front of the media, when I will drag you all the way you dragged Aahan from the office premise and humiliate him." Ishita threatened. The intensity made everyone terrified. "Now I can sue you, Mr. Rudra Verma." She said in a challenging tone.
Rudra Verma chuckled. His little girl had grown up to be such a lady with class and grace. He always knew that there was something special and unique in her. And thus he was stubborn enough to push her into his business. Today he clearly noticed how his princess was becoming a queen day by day.
Clearing his throat, Rudra said, "Aahan was fired because there was evidences against him. He was behind manipulating the data of our company, that cost us a huge amount. So we can't be lenient on him. Though the reason doesn't satisfy Mr. Basu's unprofessional approach to him. I order him to apologize to Aahan Choudhry. But the decision of firing him was still intact." He declared and looked up to meet his daughter's ferocious gaze.
There was something new about her. She was not the calm and composed Ishita anymore.
Rudra Verma was confused and amused at the same time.
While Ishita was furious.
When others were confused, one person had an evil smile plastered on his face. And that person was happened to be Abhaya Basu.
"Alright then. I will give my resignation tomorrow." Ishita declared, much to Abhay's delight.
"You can't." Rudra Verma said in a challenging tone. "You have signed a bond with the company." He added in his side. But Ishita was his daughter only. And like him, she had her own points too.
"I will. Sue me if you can with these stupid conditions of your bond." She replied in equally challenging tone, shocking everyone in the room.
"You are acting totally unprofessional." Rudra Verma said in disbelief.
"After murdering the word professionalism a few minutes ago, you are demanding it from me! Interesting!" Ishita retorted, crossing her hands in front.
Everyone gasped at her audacity, while her father looked at his daughter with a different emotion. "He has one day to prove his innocence. If he is innocent, prove it, I will do whatever you want then." He finally declared.
Ishita sighed and left the room. She had only one days in her hand.
