Aahan's Pov Meaningful conversations were deep and intense - too much for me to handle. I had that cool dude attitude of mine which was far away from being a serious persion. Joking around with every little things, I have learned to live by spreading love among people. All I knew was that my life was just because of a rock and some grasses, which were negligible in those big mountains. But there mere existence saved my life that day. Otherwise I too had died in that fatal accident. But, no, God had other plans for me. I was destined to live these people. Those out of hundreds of people, the rock hold me back and that particular place was surrounded with grasses, that prevented any severe injury. God played with these tiny little things, to save my life that day. The incident had taught me a lesson, that I had followed all these years. Nothing is small, nothing is big. Everything is the gift of God to us - his best creations and it's our duty to appreciate them. With time, they will do the best for us. Yes, I was angry on him for snatching my parents from me. I was angry for leaving me among the cruel humans, who were my relatives. But, my anger faded, as I met Ritik and then Kamal. Everything in my life was not that bad. There were good things too, only left in corner and are unnoticed. And then I became carefree. I tried to maintain my happiness throughout every ups and downs of life. But that positive approach of mine towards life was again disturbed when despite of all my attempts, I didn't grab a single job. I was demotivated and depressed. Then again God showed his grace, as I got the job in this big company. Verma Pvt. Ltd. had the reputation of being a reputed IT company in India. And I was happy with my life there. Then, life happened. And the sudden push made me stumble on my steps. But I didn't fall completely, because I held my strong faith on God. The moment Abhay Basu dragged me towards the conference room, I noticed the evil smirk on his face. I knew that he was a bad news and I was prepared for facing another bad day. But, inside the conference room, the situation was not bad, because it was worst. I expected some office politics, but not to this extent. They literally accused me of stealing company's next project designs. So the clear matter was, our company had this branch, who designed logos, images and developed mobile applications too. There was an textile company - STYLE, which wanted to start selling online. Thus we were hired to design its websites and develop its application. Ishita was leading the project. I was assigned to prepare its logo and tag line. The logo was designed as a capital 'S', written in an unique style. I had used the italics style and made it in a mixture of colour. The output was too satisfactory. Trust me, I had never designed such an output even during my college days. We just copy and paste to complete our assignment and submit its print out. Nobody raised a question and provided enough mark to clear the semester. But, here I was getting paid. Unlike college, I will get appreciation. My work will be examined by higher authorities. So I did my best. But, all I got was the allegation of cheating with the company. I clearly remember that, I had saved my work in my personal office computer and mailed it to Ishita, as she was our project head. Then how come another company name, 'SUNDARA' got that logo and made it as theirs. I haven't given them and I trust Ishita. Backstabbing was not her way of playing. It was someone else's game. And I was hundered and fifty percent sure that the evil mind behind this play, belonged to no else than Mr. Abhay Basu. From day one, I had noticed his stares on Ishita. I tried to beware her, but she took it lightly. I was sure that he had some plan going inside his mind, but was not sure what was it. From a week, he was behaving weird. And today, he proved his motive. Finally, he showed his true colours. He did what he wanted. He humiliated me. And the project was snatched from Ishita. But the biggest question was how he did it? I mean the logo was in my computer and I had sent it only to Ishita. Then how he got it? This was clearly confusing. I need to find it as soon as possible. For now, I collected the drink glasses, that were scattered around the floor and kept them on the wash basin. Kamal and Ritik were already passed out. Kamal was heavily drunk. He wanted to celebrate Ritik's promotion. And thus he forced one glass of drink to Ritik and that poor guy fainted with its smell only. But Kamal was Kamal. He didn't leave him so easily. Sprinkling water on his face, he woke him up. "I will bring you out of the death to have a drink with me, O' my friend... You are that dear to me." He kept singing, while Ritik gulped one glass of whiskey and the next moment he passed out. While Kamal gave a look of disgust towards him and kept drinking till he passed out on the floor. About me, I had a good tolerance. So even after having two glass of whiskey, I had a meaningful serious conversation with Ishita. Maybe without the drink, it would have not been possible. But, her voice refreshed my mind and now I had no hangover. What is she? Lemon juice! Nevertheless, I being an ideal friend kicked these two idiots to one side. As they found solace in each other, I cleaned the floor. They always found my apartment to do these stuffs. Because Ritik's landlord was too strict and he had banned Kamal's visit. While mine was too lenient. He never heard any complaints of residents. Whether people partied with loud music or a thief loot someone's house. He had nothing to do with it. Such a noble human! Yes, I was high on sarcasm. After cleaning the floor, finally I yawned. I was about to sleep, when Kamal's phone beeped. "Must be Anu Maa." I thought. It was a daily scene. Kamal forgot to be at house during night and his mother called him asking about his whereabout, though she knew that his last destination was either mine or Ritik's apartment. Still she could not stop being worried for him. I pulled the phone, that was lying under the table. These drunkards! I opened his phone, as I knew his password. Just the best friend things! I didn't want to but by mistake the new notification was clicked by me and the next moment what I read, left me shocked. I read the subject, "I can help you if you want to help your friend." And under that a PDF file was attached. I opened it found a video and some audio records trimmed in it. I immediately forwarded the message to my email and deleted from Kamal's phone. I ran towards my phone. Switching the internet on, I went to that particular message and downloaded the file. There was the morning video of Mr. Basu dragging me inside and then I clicked on the audio recordings. "I have to pretend that I am fine. My new job is exciting because if I won't, then my friends will be sad. I can bear the pain, but not the sadness in their face." "They won't know ever." "We are not like the modern friends, our bond is made from heart, Ishita. Kamal and Ritik are my life and so am I to them. If I will tell how I was fired due to office politics, Kamal would use his power to such an extent that the company will face a huge loss. And Ritik was a mature guy, but when it comes to me, he is the most protective one. They have a life too. Before a month, they were always worried about me getting a job, and now when finally they are completely focused in their life, I don't want to trouble them. Because for me, they will declare a war against Vermas'. And I certainly don't want that. Because a war harms both the sides." These were the exact conversation I had with Ishita. This thing was too much troubling. I was shocked. Who could it be? To be continued...
