The next day at office.
The receptionist stood up on her place, seeing the owner working inside. While Rudra Verma acknowledged everyone's greetings on his way with a nod and a smile, which later reflected on their face too.
Indeed a very good morning it was.
He walked inside the public elevator. Well, that's what the employees adored about him. He mingled with them, without any third party interaction. Thus most of the times, he took best decision for his employees.
The people inside the elevator made some space for their boss and greeted his with a good morning wish. Rudra reciprocated their wish, carrying the same cheerfulness.
One thing he had learned over his career was to be a good business man, you need to have a strong base of loyal and dedicated employees. And when you acknowledged their efforts, their loyalty and dedication for you just increased.
One guy was about to press the lift button, but Rudra stopped them, earning so many surprising looks. But he ignored them, as his gaze was fixed upon his princess, who was almost in a hurry to reach the elevator.
Ishita walked fast and finally she reached in the elevator. She sighed at her own victory, unknown to the fact that it was her father who had made this easier for her.
Rudra signalled his personal assistant to press the floor number.
The employees thought it to be their boss' kindness and glared towards Ishita, who got blessed with his attention. While Ishita was too lost in her own world.
Her mind was occupied with thoughts. She had so many things to do.
The lift door closed and soon, one by one every employees vacated their place at their desired floor.
Finally on 7th floor, Ishita moved out and Rudra followed his daughter.
"Good morning, Princess." He greeted his daughter.
Ishita, who was walking in a fast pace stopped on her track and turned around. She wanted to correct him that she was not his princess, but she didn't. For now, Aahan was his priority.
"Good morning, Mr. Verma." Ishita replied, almost forcefully.
"Well, I expected 'Dad' from you." Rudra said, being taken aback by her bitterness.
"And we had a deal about me staying at your mansion. Where did I mention about me behaving as your daughter, Mr. Verma?" Ishita asked with a tight lipped smile. She was trying hard not to burst out because that might affect Aahan's career. Yes, she was acting selfish, but when it was for Aahan, everything was worth it.
"Alright then. No deal can buy my daughter's love for me. It's okay." Mr. Verma muttered sadly.
Ishita's heart clenched. But she had a good self control over herself to hide her emotions.
However, Rudra spoke, "Meet me at my cabin. I will teach you about the politics in business. And how to tackle it for saving yourself from being the victim."
His professionalism made Ishita nod in respect. She stood aside giving him space to go in front. Mr. Verma smiled at her. She had learnt the perfect etiquette, but unfortunately he never deserved to earn it from her.
Hiding his sickness, Rudra took his step forward to the employees' section. People were working efficiently. These people were his jewels. For them only, he was improving and they were his pride.
He smiled at everyone in his way. The least he could do for their loyalty and dedication towards his company.
He was about to enter inside his cabin, when his eyes fell on a boy, sitting on the couch in the waiting lobby. He recognized him to be the same boy - Aahan.
Yesterday Rudra had met Aahan. He was confused at that time. In his career, Rudra had met a lot of frauds, some chose to cheat to climb the steps of success, while some to satisfy their greed. Rudra could tell people's character, by simply looking into their eyes and he had never turned out to be wrong.
This time too he knew that he was right. This boy here, had a pair of eyes full of hope and his hope were too high. But no, there was honesty layered in his every expressions. He seemed as an innocent pawn in someone's game of revenge.
And Rudra Verma had promised himself to find the truth out.
There were two reasons for him to do so.
First, as his employee, he would serve justice to Aahan and will punish the black sleep, who actually put his company's reputation at stake.
And second...
If Rudra Verma loved anything more than his empire, then it was his princess.
And for the first time, his princess had asked him something, he couldn't deny it.
He was amused, seeing the new shade of his daughter.
Ishita had always been an introvert kid, who had build a wall around himself.
Her passion for studies and willing to learn had attracted so much attention on her, but she always tried to hide herself among the crowds.
When the title of Verma could serve her everything in a silver plate, she chose to reject the legacy and made her own name.
And as vultures, there were people, who started to surround his empire to steal the power, but he stood as a shield to protect his hard work, which belonged to only his princess.
He wanted Ishita to learn about his business.
Because with big position, you got big responsibilities. And as the managing director of Verma Pvt. Ltd., he had responsibilities of thousands of people lying on his shoulder. And he wanted Ishita to realise this responsibility of her.
So he tricked her to work in his company. But she was too stubborn to work in his way.
She isolated herself in her cabin only, staying away from all the office works.
And then Rudra Verma saw how his daughter was shaping herself to get indulged in work and only work.
But yesterday, he saw a different glint in her eyes.
She fought... She fought against for everyone, breaking her own shell.
And then she made a deal with him.
She used every mean to win this fight.
And that determination in her eyes, Rudra realised that finally he will get his daughter back.
And his hope arise again.
To be continued...
