She has spent her life trying to become the person everyone expects her to be—a faithful believer, a good daughter, and someone who never questions the boundaries placed around her. But as she struggles to grow closer to God, she finds herself drawn into a relationship she has been taught is forbidden.Caught between faith and feelings, she must face a painful question: Can she follow her heart without losing her way with God?As family expectations, judgment, and the fear of disappointing those she loves grow stronger, she is forced to choose between the life others have planned for her and the truth she is beginning to discover for herself. Her journey becomes more than a forbidden relationship—it becomes a battle to understand faith, love, identity, and what it truly means to walk with God when everyone else has an opinion about the path she should take.

CHAPTER 1
Chapter One — The Prayer She Couldn't Finish Anna had always believed that some prayers were supposed to have simple answers. Help me. Guide me. Give me strength. Those were the prayers she knew by heart. But that evening, kneeling beside her bed with her hands clasped tightly together, none of them seemed enough. Rain tapped gently against the window. Somewhere downstairs, her mother was washing dishes, and the familiar sound usually made Anna feel safe. Tonight, it only reminded her that she was carrying a secret. She lowered her head. “God,” she whispered, “I don't know what to do.” The words felt heavier than they should have. For weeks, Anna had been struggling with feelings she didn't know how to explain. She cared deeply about another girl at school, and that realization had left her frightened—not because she understood exactly what it meant, but because she knew what her family and church might say if they ever found out. She had grown up believing that her faith was the foundation of everything. Now she wondered whether being honest about herself meant she was somehow betraying that faith. She had tried to pray the feelings away. She had tried to ignore them. She had even tried convincing herself that they were only temporary. But the questions remained. What if this is part of who I am? What will my family think? Can I still be close to God if I don't understand myself yet? Anna opened her eyes. Her Bible lay open beside her, but she hadn't read a single line for several minutes. She closed it gently. Maybe faith wasn't supposed to be this confusing. A soft knock came at the door. “Anna?” Her mother's voice. Anna quickly wiped her eyes. “Yes, Mum?” The door opened slightly. “You're unusually quiet tonight.” “I'm just tired.” Her mother studied her for a moment. “Are you sure?” Anna nodded. “I'm sure.” Her mother smiled faintly. “Come downstairs when you're ready. Your father wants everyone at the table.” “Okay.” The door closed. Anna stared at it. She wondered what would happen if she told them the truth. Would they listen? Would they understand? Or would they look at her differently? She didn't have the answer. She stood and walked toward the window. Outside, the rain had begun to slow. Across the street, someone stood beneath a yellow streetlamp. It was her friend, Euclid Euclid looked up and noticed Anna at the window. She smiled. Anna smiled back before she could stop herself. For a moment, everything felt simple. Then Anna remembered all the questions waiting downstairs. She stepped away from the window. She didn't know what the future would look like. She didn't know whether her family would accept her. She didn't even know exactly what she believed about herself yet. But she knew one thing. She didn't want fear to make her dishonest. Anna returned to her bedside and knelt again. “God,” she whispered, “I don't have all the answers.” She paused. “But I hope You can still hear me while I'm trying to find them.” Downstairs, her father called her name. “Anna!” She took a deep breath. Then she walked toward the door, carrying her questions with her.
