    Angela showed up at ten the next morning. Vi opened the door inviting her in. Adam was sitting on the couch perusing one of his favorite story books.      “Hi, Adam. What are you reading there?” Angela asked, walking over to him. He presented his Llama Pajama book. “Oh, that’s one of my favorites.” The child didn’t seem particularly distressed. “I’m going upstairs to talk to your mommy. Is that all right?”     “Okay.” He turned a page and focused on the pictures again. Vi sat beside him.     Angela climbed the stairs slowly, praying that she would be given the right words to say.
