The coronation of the birth of the newborn princess was about to take place. The King and Queen have tried for many years to conceive a child, and at last their prayers were finally answered by the birth of their daughter, their only sole heir to the throne, Princess Melody.
Although the kingdom rejoices with love and laughter for the new royal bundle of joy, the time has come now, that a creature thought long to be extinct, would emerge once again. Knowing that the chosen one has finally been born.
The wait has been long and almost unbearable when the witch told of a royal who would be chosen to rule them all.
The dragons were furious in this message to learn that a human would rule their own species.
So the conclusion of the newborn royal would be to make peace and live in co-existnce with one another.
No war, only peace amongst ourselves.
A creature to have no longer been remembered as told, but now thought of as a myth. A prophesized secret that has been held for generations, and has been long forgotten by the humans.
A secret that would unveil itself the moment the princess is crowned Queen and the stories of destruction would be proven false by those who told the stories of dragons and the chosen one who would soon command them all.
The time has come at last. But for now the dragons will watch over the Chosen One in secret. Hiding in the shadows of the forest near the castle grounds.
MELODY'S POV:
In the years to come as I grew into my teenage years, I soon gathered the feeling of a secret hiding in the woods. Like someone is watching me. I finally mustard up the courage to walk towards them only to see what looks like a pair of yellow golden eyes looking back at me. They seemed curious and almost magical.
Thinking it was a cat I called to it, as I stepped towards it the creature quickly turned and ran away.
I stumbled back as it had frightened me by the quickness of it's movement but I am now curious about what I saw.
A creature with eyes like a cat but upon catching a glimpse of it, it was huge and most definitely not a cat, but I did see that it had a tail with scales and...were those wings on its back?
I stood back up and was about to follow the creature but was soon caught by one of the guards of the Castle.
"Gotcha!" he says as he grabbed my arm.
"Let me go" I shouted, hitting his hand to let him let go of me.
"I FOUND HER!!" He shouted to the other guards. "We have been searching for you for hours princess!" he says scolding me, dragging me back to the castle.
"You know how worried the King and Queen are?!" he continued. "They thought you had been kidnapped when you were not found in your bed chambers this morning." he said as his grip tightened.
"Well I wasn't kidnapped, and you are hurting me, let go!" I screamed still hitting his arm.
The guard released his hold a bit but most certainly did not let go and turned to me and said, "I am sorry princess, but for the sake of your safe travel back to he castle I must carry you." Before I could protest he threw me over his shoulders and I started kicking and screaming.
I looked back at the woods and saw the yellow pair of eyes watching me again. Only this time I saw anger and urge to jump out and pounce on him.
In the fear of the Castle Guard getting hurt I settled down and motioned for the creature to go back into hiding.
I would have to most definitely think of a way to slip out of the Castle and wander into those woods unnoticed.
I had to see what the creature was, I would go after dinner just before the sun sets. I will make my way to my chambers and take the secret tunnel back outside.
We reached the castle and the Gaurd put me down. I was about to say something when the Gaurd took his form indicating only one thing...mother and father were right behind me.
Mother of course came up and hugged me tight as if she hasn't seen me in ages, plastering kisses all over my face.
I could tell she had been crying because her kisses were wet and her cheeks were stained with dried tears in the thought of me being kidnapped.
I suddenly felt guilty for at least not leaving a note of my whereabouts.
"Melody dear..." my mother started to say,
"I am sorry mother" I said before she could say anything else. "I just wanted to go for a walk without the guards following me, only for a moment, I am sorry I worried you." I said very apologetically
I saw my father behind her, he was fuming with anger but only released a sigh of relief that I was safe.
Then he spoke "You have caused a great deal of panic this day my daughter." he said in his dominant tone, "From here on out you will be double in the guards protection and not allowed out of site"
"But father that's not fair!" I protested but he held up his hand in silence.
"You will do as I say and as required of you. Tomorrow you're to start the training of becoming the kingdom's new Queen" He stood there staring at me.
"You are now of age to begin a new line of ruling and will do so properly" He said, walking away..
