Pilgrim holds back

282 Words
As the team celebrated their tournament win, Pilgrim stood on the sidelines, a warm smile on his face. He was proud of his teammates, and he knew that their victory was a testament to their hard work and dedication. Bella, who was standing beside him, couldn't help but steal glances at Pilgrim. She had been secretly in love with him for months, but she had never mustered the courage to tell him. Pilgrim was her senior in the taekwondo team, and she looked up to him with admiration and respect. As they walked off the mat, Pilgrim turned to Bella and said, "You were amazing out there today. Your kicks were precise and powerful." Bella's heart skipped a beat as Pilgrim's eyes met hers. She felt a flutter in her chest, and she couldn't help but wonder if Pilgrim might feel the same way about her. "Thanks, Pilgrim," she said, trying to sound casual. "You were pretty amazing yourself." Pilgrim smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I'm just glad we could bring home the win," he said. As they walked back to the locker room, Bella found herself walking closer and closer to Pilgrim, until their shoulders were almost touching. She could feel the warmth of his body, and she couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to be closer to him. Pilgrim, oblivious to Bella's feelings, continued to chat with her about the tournament. But Bella's heart was racing, and she couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and possibility. Maybe, just maybe, she would find a way to tell Pilgrim how she really felt. And maybe, just maybe, he would feel the same way about her.
