“Just take his money and run Lexi. You deserve a better man, not one who's forgotten he ever hurt you.” - Tina

After Lexi managed to escape her abusive husband, she thought she had closed the darkest chapter of her life. But fate had other plans.

Daniel's fatal accident and subsequent amnesia offered her a twisted second chance. To try and recreate her marriage on her own terms. She was determined to mold him into the husband whom she had always wanted.

As she starts to mold him, secrets about Daniel's past begin to unravel which threatens to destroy everything she knew about their relationship.

Will Lexi's obsession with reshaping their relationship blind her to the dangers lurking beneath the surface, or will she finally see the truth and make a break for freedom?

Chapter One
Daniel had never really paid attention. You know like all loving husbands should. Caring, supportive, provide emotional support. He never gave any of that. Well, except for his money. He believed that his money was enough. He didn't need to give his time or attention to anyone most especially me. He was always out late with the excuse of working overtime but I could smell the perfume on his collar. It was a woman's perfume. I could see the cherry red lipstick on his boxers. I could see the used condoms in his car and whenever I questioned him he would say. “Well, I lent the car to my friend Rooney, I'm sure he took his babe round for a ride.” We barely had s*x these days. Sometimes he would arrive all over me and I would give myself to him willingly but that was only when he was drunk. The stench of his breath covered in alcohol was appalling. I felt like throwing up. I've always wanted to run away. I wanted to run away from this marriage and from Daniel but my mum keeps saying. “As long as he's bringing in the money, no need to leave.” Sure. Our marriage was never out of love. It was just a pure contract of convenience. Back then he was admired by all the ladies. He was known as the Golden Bachelor. People never really believed that he would choose someone like me for a wife. A daughter of a decaying elitist empire being married off to save her family's empire before it crumbles. I loved Daniel. I really did. Even before I married him. I wanted him so badly and thought maybe.. that just maybe if we got married all my fairytales would come true. It would become alive. But look at me. I'm in a loveless marriage. At least the love is one sided, only coming from me. He never loved me. He never cared about me because if he did would I be feeling this way? No I wouldn't. If he loved me would he go around depositing his sperm to every woman that he sees out there? No. I blame my mother. No I blame me for falling in love. Maybe if I was never in love I would have left a long time ago. Someone warned me though. Someone warned me about this. She warned me about him but I paid deaf ears. Because of what? Because I loved him. And what did I get? This. The house was empty. Daniel had gone for work. It's always lonely in this place. I wouldn't call it a house. Mom says that maybe if I have kids that I would be happier. She said that maybe if I gave Daniel children that he would become more caring towards me and spend time with me. I wasn't even thinking about all that. It would be nice though but seriously I've had enough. My phone beeped. I crossed over to check on it. It was a message from Tina. Lexie come over. I'm at the pub. Gosh! Tina! The party girl. At least I had someone to hangout with and keep me company. Tina was a great friend and confidante. One that any girl would wish to have. I packed up and styled my hair perfectly. My black off shoulder dress really showed off my magnificent curves. I looked so delectable. So yummy. Daniel chasing around those women. He didn't know what he was missing out. Sometimes I find it hard to understand men. Why would you chase a woman that's not even a half of your wife. Like… I bet his sidechick looks like a throwback. I pumped my lips with nude lipstick and headed off for the car. “Madame, you can't go anywhere.” “Why?” I said frowning at the gate man right in front of me. “Orders from Sir Daniel. He doesn't want you going anywhere. You should stay at home.” “Excuse me?” I said out of annoyance, “Open this gate right now or I'll break this f*****g window.” I said referring to the car's windscreen. “I'm sorry ma'am. Please understand me.” He knelt in front of me, “I can't let you go. I can't lose my job.” So I have also being turned into a prisoner in my own house. This was getting annoying. “Whatever!” I rolled my eyes and headed back to the house. I phoned Tina. “Tina.. bad news. I can't come out.” “Why?” She asked. “Daniel won't let me out.” I whined. “Oh God! Don't worry, I'll come over instead.” She said and later hung up.
