Chapter 1: The Boy Who Dreamed Of A Forgotten King
Chapter 1: The Boy Who Dreamed of a Forgotten King
Rain had always sounded different in the lower districts of Valoria.
To the wealthy families living behind golden walls and towering gates, rain was nothing more than a beautiful blessing from the heavens. It was something they watched through crystal windows while drinking expensive wine and discussing meaningless politics.
But in the forgotten streets where the poor struggled to survive, rain carried a different voice.
It whispered about hunger.
It reminded people of broken roofs, empty stomachs, and dreams that had been abandoned long ago.
Aiden Voss stood beneath the cold rain, his worn-out cloak barely protecting him from the storm. Water dripped from his dark hair, sliding down his face as he carried a wooden box filled with herbs through the crowded streets.
The nineteen-year-old young man was not special.
At least, that was what everyone believed.
He had no powerful family behind him. No rare bloodline. No magical abilities. No impressive achievements that made people remember his name.
He was simply Aiden.
An orphan who lived alone in a small wooden house near the edge of the city.
A nobody.
"You're late again."
Aiden stopped as he heard the familiar voice.
An old woman stood outside a small medicine shop, holding an umbrella above her head. Her silver hair moved gently with the wind.
"Sorry, Mira," Aiden said with a small smile. "The roads were crowded."
The old woman looked at him carefully.
"You always apologize too much."
Aiden laughed quietly.
"Maybe because I make too many mistakes."
"No," Mira replied. "Because you carry too much responsibility for someone your age."
Aiden looked away.
He had heard those words many times before.
But he never knew how to answer them.
Since childhood, he had always felt different.
Not stronger.
Not smarter.
Just different.
Sometimes he would wake up from dreams of places he had never visited. Ancient castles covered in flames. Armies kneeling before him. A woman crying while holding his hand.
And always, there was a voice.
A voice that called his name.
But every time he woke up...
He forgot it.
Only one feeling remained.
Loneliness.
"Aiden."
He looked back at Mira.
"Yes?"
"Do you ever wonder who you really are?"
The question caught him off guard.
For a moment, the sound of the rain disappeared.
Aiden stared at the old woman.
"I know who I am."
Mira smiled sadly.
"No. You know who you became."
Those words followed him long after he left the shop.
That night, Aiden sat alone inside his small house.
A candle flickered beside him, fighting against the darkness surrounding the room.
His home was simple.
A wooden bed.
An old table.
A few books.
Nothing valuable.
Nothing that suggested someone important lived there.
Yet, hidden beneath the floorboards was something Aiden had never been able to explain.
A black metal box.
He found it when he was eight years old.
Nobody knew where it came from.
Nobody knew who left it.
And no matter what he tried, he could never open it.
Tonight, however, something was different.
The moment Aiden touched the box, his entire body froze.
A strange warmth spread through his hand.
The metal began glowing faintly.
Aiden stepped backward.
"What..."
The box had never reacted before.
Never.
A deep pain suddenly exploded inside his head.
He fell to his knees, grabbing his forehead.
Images flooded his mind.
A battlefield.
Thousands of soldiers lying beneath a red sky.
A massive black throne.
A man standing before an army, wearing a crown made from silver and darkness.
That man looked exactly like him.
Then a voice echoed.
"You promised you would return."
Aiden gasped.
Another image appeared.
A woman with tears in her eyes.
She reached toward him.
"Please..."
Her voice trembled.
"Don't forget us."
The vision shattered.
Aiden collapsed onto the floor, breathing heavily.
His hands shook.
"What was that?"
Slowly, the black box opened.
Inside was a broken ring.
A simple silver ring with a symbol engraved on it.
A symbol Aiden had seen in his dreams countless times.
A crown surrounded by flames.
The moment he touched it...
The entire world changed.
A powerful energy erupted from his body.
The candle flames turned blue.
The walls cracked.
The air became heavy.
And somewhere far away...
Ancient beings opened their eyes.
Deep beneath forgotten ruins, a statue that had remained silent for a thousand years began to speak.
"The king..."
Dust fell from its stone face.
"The Immortal King has awakened."
Far away, inside the Celestial Empire, a man wearing a black robe stood before a massive window.
He looked at the storm outside.
For the first time in centuries...
Fear appeared in his eyes.
"No..."
His fingers tightened.
"Impossible."
A servant behind him lowered his head.
"My lord?"
The man remained silent.
Because he felt it.
A presence that should have disappeared forever.
A power that history had erased.
A name that the world had buried.
"The Immortal King has returned."
Meanwhile, Aiden Voss sat alone in his broken house.
Completely unaware that thousands of years of history had just changed.
He looked at the ring in his hand.
And for the first time...
A voice inside his mind answered.
"Welcome back, my king."
Aiden's eyes widened.
Because he recognized that voice.
It was his own.
