The church bells ring

Angie "Heat of the moment" started playing over my alarm clock, making me jump. 'Crap' i whispered under my breath. I hadn't realized i was studying all night long. I got up and started getting ready for school, once i was showered and dressed i ran down stairs and grabbed my keys and school bag. I reached the school at 8am. The school was practically deserted, Classes don't start until 9am but there are usually at least a few people here by now... Where was everyone? The school was unlocked so i went inside and headed for my usual morning table in the cafeteria. Not even the cafeteria workers where here? That's when i noticed the T.V. was on with the news running. I went to find the remote so i could turn up the volume. The woman on the screen was reading a message, the video was on a loop. "Attention Jackson county residence, a lock down will go into immediate effect. All residents are urged to remain in their homes at this time. More information will be announced as it becomes available, but as of right now we are under quarantine. Please remain calm, you are not in any immediate danger, this is just a precaution." My mind was racing, what could possibly make them quarantine the whole valley? This can't be good. Being the nerd that i am i wanted all the information, even if i had to find it myself. I ran to Mr.V's class room, he slept here half the time so there was a good chance he would be in his office in the back of his class. He was a research scientist, he used to study infectious diseases with the CDC, but when his mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 3 years ago he moved back home to help take care of her, and he dedicated his life to curing her. He started teaching at the high school because they where willing to let him use the lab's so long as he funded his own research out of pocket, and since his family is the most wealthy in the state, that was no problem. I ran into the class room, and knocked on his office door. I opened the door without waiting for an answer. " Mr.V wake up! " i shouted at him. He jumped up from the couch. "Am i late for class again?" He asked. "No, there is no on here. The news says we are being quarantined, the whole county." I answered. "Do you have any idea what could possibly make them quarantine the entire valley without anyone knowing anything about it ahead of time? I mean, there wasn't any cases of anything really deadly on the news, how could it happen so fast? I asked Mr.V's face drained of color, he looked like he was about to throw up. I could see his hands where shaking Me: 'what is it Mr.V? Are you okay?' Him: ' it... It can't be... It's not possible' Me: ' what do you mean? What's not possible?' Him: ' there is only ONE thing that would make the CDC quarantine such a large area so quickly with no news of an outbreak beforehand' Me: 'okay... What is it??' Him: '...Zombies'
