Mikayla who just opened her eyes adjusting to the lights. Her eyes slowly wandered around the room she was in. She remember she was left in the forest outside by him. How could she be in a big room which looked like a proper bedroom.
She groaned as she tried to sit up. Her head pounded when she finally sat up, it hurt like hell. She also noticed that the hoodie she had on was nowhere in sight now. She turned her head because she noticed a glass of water on the nightstand along with some medicine and ointment.
“Where is he?” Mikayla left those behind and got up from the bed, walked to the door to find the owner of the house. Once she opened the door, she realized she was on the second floor or third. She followed the stairs and walked down to the first floor, the bedroom she occupied was on the third floor.
“Anybody here?” She called out. She had arrived on the first floor and the house was so quiet and she couldn’t find anyone. Mikayla kept wandering around the house, roaming every corner looking for someone.
The first floor was huge because there were not many pieces of furniture decorating the house. She could only see a set of comfortable couches and a big-sized television.
“You awake?” Mikayla was startled when the front door opened and Mr. Saate walked in with training clothes. Everyone could tell that he just came back from running, sweats still running down his body.
“Yes.”
“No one’s here except us,” he said, seeing her wandering eyes. “Someone will be here to help around the house,” he continued to say.
“Did someone actually live here?” She asked in curiosity because from the look of it, it didn’t look like someone actually living here.
“No, but the necessities had been prepared. Until someone comes, you don’t need to worry about anything,” he said, explaining the situation before he left.
“You’re leaving me here all alone?”
“I have work to do.” Mr. Saate shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly. Then, he started walking up the stairs to shower and get ready. He got into the main bedroom since all his clothes were kept there, he also took a shower there with the full utilities, the only fully furnished bedroom in the house.
Mikayla who stayed on the first floor went to the kitchen. She went through every cabinet and checked the fridge which was full of things to survive, if she had to put it that way. It looked like she was dumped in this place where she knew nothing about and its whereabouts.
She grabbed some berries out of the fridge and rinsed them before putting them together in a bowl. She stood still in front of the sink and looked out of the window. The view in front of her was breathtaking, something she didn’t notice last night. They were up the hill and the view was overlooking the ocean.
“What are you doing?”
Mikayla was startled and looked back to see Mr. Saate looking clean wearing a three-piece suit. She brought up the bowl to show him but she didn’t realize the berries were all gone. She must have enjoyed them while she got mesmerized by the view.
“You are asking for food?” He asked with a raised eyebrow.
“No.” She brought the bowl down to see no point. “What do I do here?” Instead, she asked the reason why she was brought up here.
“Sign the paper, the rest will follow,” he replied. He told her where he moved the paper and she should sign it soon. When he came back, the paper should be signed, he warned her before he left the house.

Four days had passed since Mikayla was brought to the mansion and four days since he left without any further news. She was free to do whatever she wanted around the house and the person he sent to the house came later that day. A woman who introduced herself as someone who works here as a maid and was in her late thirties.
“Maria, there’s no way out of here, is it?” Mikayla asked as she was sitting on a chair with her legs crossed. She was asked to be accompanied while chilling in the backyard.
The backyard was spacious and it was so much different from the front face of the mansion. The forest was surrounding the house except for the back, it was intended to be left for the view.
“Unless you want to take an extreme road, no, Madam,” Maria replied honestly. The first time she came here, she was driven by Mr. Saate’s man. “Should we get ready to have dinner?”
“Why?” Mikayla looked at her who had already stood up from the chair next to her.
“Mr. Saate is coming,” she replied easily which surprised Mikayla.
“When?” She stammered and hurriedly got up from her own chair.
Dug.
As she moved in a hurry, her knee knocked over the table leg which was made from a solid wood. She grimaced in pain but kept moving, almost running into the house.
“Ah,” she winced after she blindly ran into something soft. Her eyes quickly diverted up to the interruption she ran into but her eyes widened upon seeing Mr. Saate right in front of her.
“You’re in such a hurry. Something lost?” He asked. He took his hand off her back which he used to support her from falling.
“Do you need something?” She blurted out without thinking. She just said whatever came to her mind. His sudden appearance made her ask the question.
“Yes. You,” he said, his eyes looking at hers. “Get ready to leave for an event and, the paper,” he continued.
Mikayla nodded and excused herself to go to the bedroom. What he didn’t know was that she was panicking because she had not signed the paper yet. She was prolonging it because she didn’t want to, at first, but after living in the mansion for four days, her life was better than when she lived with her father.
Once she was in the room, she hurriedly got a pen from the drawer and signed the paper which she never moved. She made sure to sign it clearly. She grabbed the paper and put the pen down. But as soon as the pen was placed on the nightstand, the door to the bedroom pushed open. She snapped her head towards the door to find Mr. Saate was the one who opened it.
“Still wet, huh?” He said while looking at her.
