JULIANA In a world where men are raised according to the hierarchy's belief,that men are more important in the society than women,the Yaba community to be precise. I Juliana Smooth will not bow to that,in my world! i choose to do whatever i like and be wherever i want to be, i stepped into that Famous Coffee shop strictly for Men. In the coffee shop painted brown and cream, were men sipping their coffee,chatting with each other over a table, some playing games as they made their banters against women,laughing,giggling about their wives. Their conversations always ruin my guts,they have their meetings every day and night. "A WORLD AWAY FROM HOME". They say, just a home for them to show their Powers and rules in the society. I go there dressed like a man every evening after school to pick up the MY FOUND LOVE series. I dare not miss it. I pick up the book series and go home to read it Everyday without anyone suspecting that I'm a Lady Might just say I'm good at being a Con artist. Today I bumped into a man in front of the coffee shop when I was leaving.pretended to say sorry, then I ran on immediately thinking I've been caught. But Him! Cyborg Williams tried calling me back as I ran off. Hello, come pick up your book…. I'm Sorry He stuttered. Looking at me as I ran off until I slid right into a sharp corner, he wondered if he had just met a Mate or a Lady, because he hit his shoulders on my chest or should I say breast, I guess he saw my toe nails while he was trying to pick up the book on the floor. Got home Scared, panting!!! because there's a Penalty against breaking our Society Rule. I hate it so much that I forgot to change my outfit. It was just a regular evening while my family was having dinner when I stormed my house with my outfit, leaving my whole family jaw dropping,looking at me in disarray. Why are you dressed like this? What's going on? My mother (Mary Smooth) asked. I Got a Male Role today Mummy. Sneaking off to my room. I always told a lie that I had drama rehearsals every evening just to the coffee shop to catch up on the book series,I wouldn't even dare to tell the truth. Sad and weary,not thinking about the Penalty or my whole family reaction but missing out on the limited edition of my book series is the worst feeling I've ever had, it hurts and breaks my heart. I lay on my bed sighing feeling sad,until I slept off, I had nightmares so much that I screamed waking up this night. My Love that kept me alive and awake isn't with me, amidst everything in the world,this Lovely book series brought me to sleep every night i read them.laid on my bed till it was morning. I stood up knackered this morning,went to the bathroom,brushed my teeth,thinking what if they catch me outside, and everyone starts throwing things at me like oranges,doughnuts and all sorts at me for trespassing and breaking the Famous Coffee Shop Rule. Snapped back and said oh No!! As I dress up to go to school. I laid my head on my desk when Mr Cash, our lecturer, walked in. Good afternoon Students, How are you all doing today? Today we have a new transfer student, he said….. My head was still on my table,when I heard my classmates whispering to themselves, I was really carried away when my lecturer was speaking. I decided to look up then I saw him, his broad shoulders, pointed nose,and a tall and handsome man. I said No No No!!! so loud that I caught my classmates and Mr Cash's attention. They all turned their heads looking at me. Did he come here to punish me? oh you're wondering why i said this…. It is Cyborg Williams, the guy I bumped into at the coffee shop. Mr Cash asked Juliana are you ok? Yes I am, I replied. Alright Everyone help Cyborg get settled and ready, he's your classmate now.. The closing bell rings, finally it's time to go home, everyone packs their bags to leave for their homes. I walked slightly in front of him to know if he would recognize me but he didn't.. Finally happy that my thought has come to nought, but something was suspicious the way he looked at me. As I walked through the streets on my way home I felt somebody stalking me. I looked back to see who it was, I couldn't see anybody, so I thought maybe it's just another crazy thought. I got home to change into my dress,holding my disguise outfit in my back pack. Off I go to rehearsals Mom, coming out of my house. I hurriedly went to my usual spot, an abandoned house just down the street, where I changed into my outfit disguising myself as a man again. This time I won't have to suffer again tonight. I just couldn't sleep because I missed reading my book last night. I got into the coffee shop,went straight to the bookshelf to take my book series, I saw him Him!! Not again!! I hid to avoid conversation between us because of what had happened yesterday, but the thought of having nightmares, without sleep and suffering again this night is a doom I won't let happen to me. Just this night I summoned my courage to get it,as I moved to the shelf pretending I didn't see him. He saw me but i didn't want attention. Grabbed the book and before he could even finish saying hello…… I had vanished. I hurriedly walked down the hallway to the front door of the coffee shop, I made my way out, I saw a huge number of men outside,then I wondered if my whole facade world had crumbled. The First Man. Who are you? What is your name? approaching me I said nothing as silence filled the whole atmosphere. The Second Man With his audible voice, Anyone knows this Lady pretending to be a Men, pointing his walking stick to my chest, pressing it to know if I'm a lady. I stuttered saying my name is Bernard. First man. At least you should be friends with one of us here if you claim to be a man. Does anyone know Bernard here? Facing the other men. I squat with both of my hands covering my ears,as the book fell off my hand, suddenly it seems all hell went loose on me as I thought about the penalty and humiliation my family will have to go through because of me.
