Bella wanted to run the other direction the entire time they raced to Ryan’s house. She wanted to ask him if Leo was home, then go back to Albert’s if he said yes.
But more than that, she wanted to be with Ryan. After talking to Julia, she knew she wasn’t ready to let go of either Ryan or Albert. And after two days of trying to figure out where Albert hid the files he emptied out of Bella’s room, she knew she had to simply move on. She might never know if Albert really did steal from Ryan’s dad, but there was enough doubt in her mind that Albert was hiding something from her. Something that had to do with Ryan’s family.
