Chapter eleven

Standing here in front of me was the least person I expected to see. I have already packed my books and was about leaving when she held my wrist tightly.

"What do you want." I camly said.

"Not so easy, Daniella, or will I say...Cry baby."She said, smirking.

I ignored her and started walking, but she dragged me back.

"What's your problem?"I snapped.

''First of all,don't talk back at me..."

I cut her off..."Look here...I'm not the same girl you know, so you better let me be."I said, yanking my hand from her grasp.

" Easy girl ...it seems you are new around here,so let me get this straight. I know you are the one that put on the water sprinkler,so I will advise you to stop acting like a hero while I am nice."She said, not showing any trace of a smile.

"You are a howler, aren't you, and if I am not mistaken, you were bullying that boy, weren't you." I said, looking her squarely in the eyes.

"It's seems you have truly grown Daniella...you might act tough and all grown, but you will still be the same cry baby that I once bullied, and it will remain like that."She paused and looked at me. Look at you! She laughed.You are still wearing your glasses and stupid braces.I will warn you one more time because I'm in a good mood today,don't poke your nose in other people's business or else.

She came closer and continued.That water that was poured on you will just be the begininng.She said,whispering the last part.

"It seems you don't know me, becca. I said,spittingng my her name with disgust. I don't care how you see me now, but all I know is that you are an insecure little girl who uses others as a punching bag...get a new hobby because it doesn't suit you."I said, walking out.

"You just crossed a line! She said menancely before walking out.

"I hate her guts!" I said, fuming at Mia.

"Calm down Daniella,it seems the two of you have a bad history."She said.

"If you put it like that, I shrugged. She's always so full of herself,who does she think she is..."

"Daniella..."

"No, let me finish and set this straight. She's just a two-timed bully who doesn't value anybody..."

"Uhm, Daniella,she said, pointing back at me." I looked back just to see my nightmare staring back at me.

"Awwn...it's so nice that you think about me this way,I am quite popular.She said giggling.Is she a psychopath.I pondered.

By the way,you really improved because you know how one friend...she said looking at Mia." By now,almost all the students were gathered around waiting for what I will do next.

Classic school, my foot,I rolled my eyes internally.

"'Are you done!" I asked calmly, and she was taken aback by my statement.Did she really think I had time for her games.

"What!"

"If you are done...can you please move,I'm about to eat."

Gasps echoed through the class.Great! This was not what I needed right now.

She took one of the drinks that someone was drinking and poured it on my head.

"Now that will cover your hideous face."She smirked.

"I think you forgot something." I said, looking behind her.

"And what is it? She asked, looking,also looking behind me.

Your senses. I said coldly. Mia gave me a pleading look, but I ignored her.It was too late to back down.

Suddenly her minions came to attack me.But becca signalled them and they stopped.

"Watch your mouth loser."She said, grabbing my collar.

LET HER GO

The crowd gasped, but this time, it was different. It seems they were whispering about someone.

I said, "Let her go." The person's voice was so authoritative. I looked back to see a guy that I hadn't seen before.

Whatever she said, leaving with her minions not forgeting to give me the stink eye.

The guy didn't look at me before he walked away,putting his both hands in his pocket.

"Oh my God! I was so scared for you.Mia said, attempting not to cry.

"Hey!It's okay beside she's just a meanie. I said, "By the way,who's that guy?"I asked, looking at his direction.

"He's Zach Leverton..."

"You mean the guy that Linda wanted me to investigate."I inquired.

"Yeah... and I heard that becca has a massive crush on him."Mia said.

"Oh really."I said slowly smiling.

Daniella,are you okay!I heard what happened to you are you alright? I'm sorry that I wasn't there for you. Emily said in a panick as she was checking my hands for any sign of bruises in my body.

"I'm fine emz." I assured her.

"Ok...who's she,I haven't seen her before." she said, looking at Mia.

"She's Mia,and apparently my new friend."

"Oh...I guess,nice to meet you." She said, shaking Mia.

"I gotta go,see you later."Mia said leaving Emily and I.

"So you have a new friend."Emily said.

"Is not like that emz...you will like her,she seems good."

"But I don't like her."She pouted.

"You get to love her." I said, chuckling at her behaviour.

"Whatever... let's get out of here,I'm coming later to your house."

"No problemo! I said.

You gotta teach me how to speak mexico.She said as we both left.

Marcus pov

You gotta stand up for yourself,or else she would walk all over you

Daniella voice still echoed in my ears.I wish it was easy considering the fact that that bully has an upper hand.

I was in the mystery club all day because I needed to figure out some things that were happening in the school. We were called the mystery club because we were known for solving mystery.It kind of like a spy work so that's why my teammates were pretty surprised when I brought Daniella here.

She's smart,so her being a member will be a benefit. But still,I wouldn't let her investigate Zach Leverton alone cause I knew the stakes alone are high.

You are still working on this case.Peter said, looking at the computer.Peter here was a loyal person to be with, but just don't mess with him.

"No"! I lied.

"I thought we were done with the case." Peter said, looking at me.

"Uhm..."

Linda and Mia came in.

Did you not hear the news.Mia said, looking at me.

"What news?I said genuinely confused.

"That girl...becca or whatever her name was, bullied Daniella, she said.

"Not suprised."Linda said.

This was what I was afraid of.I am truly grateful that Daniella sort of helped me, but I didn't want her to be the their next target.

"But don't worry she gave her her own dose... "she didn't finish her statement when Daniella came walking in.

"What are you doing here"? Linda sneered.

"Watch your manners Linda."I warned.

"I changed my mind I'm joining you guys."She said smiling.Something wasn't right.

"What made you to change your mind."Linda said.

"Nothing...I just felt like solving mysteries."She said.

Everyone seems to believe what she said.But I don't believe her one bit. I'm good at studying facial expressions and body movement so I can detect when someone is lying and so far, Daniella is really doing a pretty good job at it.

"Okay... "I said not wanting to ask any further questions.

"So,am I still gonna investigate about Zach." Daniella asks.

"No..." I said shortly.

"Why? Daniella said as her face fell.

"Nothing." but we can all discuss this...

"...on the group chat" Mia asked.

"Affirmative." I said. They all left remaining Daniella and I.

"You can drop the act now that they are gone." I said.

"What do you mean?

"You didn't want to join the club before and now all of a sudden you are interested." I stated.

"Well,I guess I changed my mind." She said, looking at me.

"You are surely good at lying... you are still lying to my face."I said calmly.

Daniella seemed to be contemplating about something before she gave in.

"Fine, I lied,the only reason why I'm joining this group is because of becca."She said.

"Why?"

"Because becca once bullied me and I want her to feel the same."

"You wanna revenge".

"Yes"

"But how?"I asked.

"I figured out that she has a crush in Zach and it would be.a win-win...

...if you investigate about him and try to make him fall in love with you so that you will make her jealous. I said interrupting her.

Exactly!you have said what is in my mind.

I'm not sure Daniella....

Please Marcus...I'm begging you,she did a lot of mean things amd I want her to know how it feels... and besides,she needs to be taught a leson.She said brokenly.

I looked at her face and sighed. Who can say no to this face!

You look so funny right now.i said trying not to laugh.

Stop it. She mumbled.

Ok...fine,but I will help you.I stated.

Really,she beamed.

I nodded my head.

Thank you she said hugging me.It felt so weird because it has been long that someone hugged me

You can let go now.I said.

Sorry...she said sheepishly.

"Cute." I mumbled.

Huh! She said.

Let's go. Daniella said, dragging me.

Why do I have a bad feeling about this.
