I made it a point of my duty to get the finished files to Robert first thing in the morning as I got to work. I worked hard on those files even though they weren’t my responsibility. My face soured just at the thought of having to see and talk to Robert’s unpleasant secretary. As I left my new office and made my way to the elevator, I heard Gretchen scoff under her breath the word ‘skank’.
After the elevator doors opened up, I turned towards her and gave her a tight smile, a silent ‘f’ you to her and just to show her that I can be just as catty.
