That night, Kael came to her chambers without knocking. The door closed with a soft click, sealing them in.Elara rose from the bed, heart pounding. “You presume much, my lord.”He stripped off his gloves, stepping into her space. “No, Princess. I presume exactly what will happen next.”When he touched her, magic flared between them, heat and cold colliding. His mouth claimed hers — demanding, punishing, coaxing. She fought, then melted, her body betraying her will.Kael’s hands explored with ruthless precision, unfastening laces, peeling silk from skin. The air turned molten as he pushed her back onto the bed, his weight pinning her.Every kiss was possession, every movement a declaration: she was his.And for the first time, Elara stopped pretending she didn’t want to be.---Title: Moonfire & ThornDescription:In a realm where magic is bound by blood and kingdoms rise and fall on whispered prophecy, Princess Elara of the Moonfire Court hides a dangerous secret—she was never meant to be heir. Born under a forbidden eclipse, her power is wild, untamed, and deadly enough to tear the realms apart. When the borders shatter and war threatens her people, Elara is forced into an uneasy alliance with Kael Thorn, the brooding warlord of the Shadowlands—a man cursed to never feel warmth, whose very touch could freeze her heart. Their union is meant to be political, nothing more… yet every stolen glance and every battle fought side by side blurs the line between duty and desire. But an ancient prophecy warns that their love will either save the world… or burn it to ashes. As darkness closes in, Elara must decide: will she risk everything for a man she can’t have, or sacrifice her heart to save her kingdom?A tale of fierce magic, slow-burning passion, and the kind of love that could ignite the stars. Perfect for fans of A Court of Thorns and Roses and Shadow and Bone.

Chapter 1 – The Blood Moon Omen
The bells of Moonfire Keep tolled, deep and foreboding, shaking the stillness of the night. From her balcony high in the eastern tower, Princess Elara watched the crimson moon climb above the horizon, staining the world in shades of blood. It was a sight the people feared — a rare alignment whispered about in songs older than the kingdom itself. To most, it was a bad omen. To Elara, it was a reminder of the curse in her veins. The air was heavy, tasting faintly of iron. Somewhere in the distance, a wolf howled, its cry long and mournful. The wind whipped her gown around her legs, carrying the scent of rain and something else — a darker note she couldn’t name, like smoke curling from an unseen fire. “Princess,” a voice murmured. The royal seer, Lady Miren, stepped onto the balcony, her pale eyes glimmering in the moonlight. “It begins.” Elara’s throat tightened. “The prophecy.” Miren nodded slowly. “When the blood moon rises, the Shadowlands awaken. And their ruler will come for you — to bind your magic, or to burn it out.” The name came unbidden to Elara’s lips. “Kael Thorn.” Warlord of the Shadowlands. The conqueror whose armies were said to drink the blood of their enemies and whose fortress was built from the bones of kings. A man both feared and desired, though Elara knew desire was a dangerous word where he was concerned. Her father’s council had spoken of him often these past months, arguing whether to attempt peace or prepare for war. But war with Kael Thorn was not easily won. His forces were vast, his magic older than the Moonfire line itself. And if the whispers were true, he could break even the most stubborn will. Elara gripped the cold stone of the balcony rail. Deep in her chest, her magic stirred — not in fear, but in something she did not want to name. Far away, beyond the borderlands, Kael Thorn stood on the ruins of an ancient battlefield. His silver eyes reflected the same red moon. “She will come to me,” he told the shadows. “Or I will go to her.” The wind howled through the dead trees, and the blood moon shone brighter, as if it too was waiting.
